FIF Special OnesI think @wera idea of Varane could be a shrewd one. Worth the “gamble” as long as his salary is reasonable and his attitude is right. Another defender used to winning would be nice.
With that said there’s been absolutely zero links and one thing about our free transfer business is we move fast historically. So I’d assume there’s a lack of interest from us or him.
Buongiorno seems like the best from the more expensive realistic options. In terms of a natural replacement he seems the closest to what we have. There’s something about an Italian defender that I still think fits us really well especially in that central position. Is Varane going to want to sit deep and sweep up for 30 minutes at a time occasionally?

Best Overall PosterThe only Bosman cbs are Hermoso and Adarabioyo (or however he's called). Problem is i doubt either of them is a good fit to play in the middle. I don't know Fulham cb well but Hermoso is definitely more of a lcb in a back 3 formation.

Has Varane ever played in a 3cb set-up, and if so has he ever been the middle center back? The one time I remember Real Madrid using 3cb's as a necessity - 2nd leg vs. Chelsea in 2021 - Varane didn't even play in that game. And if it's happened in Manchester, then I've probably not seen it and given his underwhelming time there it probably didn't go terribly well anyway.

Kim is more of a RCB material in the back 3. He needs a proper CB next to him to perform properly.
