I will keep hoping. With our financial position, spending 40m on Pavard is way better than on Balogun or Taremi. Bastoni on the left and Pavard on the right and we are safe.

Some of y'all don't understand how transfers work and think time and finances in a football club are in linear order. It's not. I'm pretty sure WE DO NOT have 40mil ready for somebody (like Balogun, especially after making a 10mil deal for Arnautović), pretty sure it's closer to 20mil and if Pavard is a target, unless Correa is sold, he is the only piece of the current puzzle that we are pursuing.

Hard to see this happening, but would obviously be amazing if it did. When you are piss poor, it is probably more realistic to aim for success by building from the back rather than having an amazing attacking line-up.

I know it is more exciting for many to sign a young striker like Balogun rather than a 27 year old defender like Pavard. But Pavard is more or less the only player we have been linked to that could be described as close to world class.

I also believe that RCB would be the optimal position for him, more so than RB or CB in four man line.

At this point I honestly don't care how much the defender costs. As long as we get to add one. Since any saved money isn't going to the next transfer anyway, the cost is irrelevant.

40m for Pavard? Whatever. 50m for Scalvini? Whatever.
