I think managers all know we need another fire power but thinking who and how, quality striker is not cheap, more risks if it’s young players, also it’s winter mercato as well.

Except Thuram we didn't make the right choices in the forward department in recent years, and it's gonna continue if Taremi is signed. We need to be more creative and more daring to find better, younger and more exciting forwards than the ones we signed later. The same way we found players like Bisseck.

Also we brought in Martinez, Lukaku and Now Thuram in recent years. Yes 5-6 years is recent unless your teenager !

And is not that many years since we had Circus Icardi around.

Lots of issues is caused by financial restraints, UEFA sanctions, owners who lacked the funds to actually run a club and other unfortunate circumstances. Those circumstances lead to the club being forced with gambles. I start sounding like a broken record, but that sort of players have high probability of failure and high potential of profit if they break through. Milan that also made lots of those 0-30m purchases, funnily enough also had loads of failures…

Let’s go through the purchase since Martinez came

Martinez - €25M
Lukaku - €74m & €8m loan
Salcedo - €10m
Sanchez - loan, Bosman x2
Correa - €6m + €27m
Dzeko - €3m
Thuram - Bosman
Arna - €10m

Only one can be defined as high investment and not a development, gamble or at advance age and that’s Lukaku!

If we look at it only two players have been brought in, in that period over €40m and that is Hakimi and Lukaku and both was a tremendous success in that season. All other players been below that in that period and we done remarkably well overall when looking at the fact we been unable to purchase players of proven quality at decent age.

Thuram + Morata is looking amazing now that we are stick with 2 useless strikers. At august i was complaining how Thuram was a bad choice and Morata a bad deal for 20M. Its still probably, but 10M for Arna are much worse....

20m is still an incredible bad deal, that Arna been useless don’t really change how bad that deal would be.

The problem was that there where no other then potential bad deals.

Scamacca turned out to be as unreliable and injury prone as predicted, Bologun a bullet well avoided same with that other hyped talent everyone spoke about (name currenly slipped my mind), Taremi been not worth even remotely of what was demanded.

Thuram turned out to be by far the best available option.

In case you haven’t noticed we have hardly anyone to cross the ball, so what good is a strong header if there no one to cross it. Also neither Martinez nor Thuram are actually bad headers its just they rarely ever get a cross in.
