Or he's just not cut for the real pressure at the top and wants the easy pay check
To be honest, I don’t think your far off. I’m always put off by signings like this. He’s 27 soon and he only just made his breakthrough season? That makes no sense to me. He never had numbers like these in previous seasons either. This is more likely a “one season wonder” case. You’re right in the sense that he probably sees his stock raise high enough to look for a pay check in case he can’t replicate this season which imo seems the likeliest scenario

#Inter have seemed to pull out of the race for Joshua Zirkzee. The forward could cost beyond €50 + bonuses and #Inter has other targets. Juventus, AC Milan and Arsenal all are still fighting for the signature of the 22-year-old.

Gazzetta made this rumour up and then shut the rumour down themselves, pack of idiots

The day we employ Mason Greenwood is the day I stop supporting this club by the way.

imo the club shouldn’t look for bargains and waste 30 million on a gamble. Either pay a good amount for a player who can guarantee both a present and a future or stick to what they’re doing now which is signing players for free or for loans as stop gaps.

I’ve always been against the second option because I know we’ll be left short of our achievements thanks to the bang average strikers we sign every season. You’ll always have a situation where a Thuram will miss a crucial chance or two when it matters most. Happened with Dzeko, Lukaku, and even Lautaro in the past.

The striker role is too important and thats why if we want one it should be an investment on a potentially top player. That actually should be our priority

I remember in years past we were linked with Leao, Isak and Vlahovic. These are imo the type of strikers we should be linked with now. Imagine we pulled the trigger on those.

There’s still potential strikers available that can be here for several years. If you want to exclude Greenwood:

Benjamin Sesko
Mathys Tel
Zirkzee
Goncalo Ramos (maybe?)

True yet our budget doesnt allow for that kind of investment, assuming that Lautaro remains the focal point and Thuram has priority as #2 and Taremi is coming to replace Alexis (as 3/4th option).

So effectively, since Arnautovic will be around as 4/5th choice, we need an up and coming player who can step up within 2 seasons if we sell Thuram as the #2 guy.

Some talented forwards that can be had with 20-30m (Lautaro price back then) are my boy Fotis Ioannidis [don't want to see him leave my team but if it's for Inter I can digest it :D ], Igor Thiago of Club Brugge (30m I suppose) or Benfica's Marcos Leonardo but they don't sell cheap. There's also Dovbyk as a good enough option.

The names we should be targeting like Openda, Gyokeres, Guirassy, Boniface, Zirkzee, Santi Gimenez, Sesko, Tel, Brobbey etc will be going for over 40m, which I don't think we'll have available.

At best we could throw 20m i imagine and several conditions to increase that. Or shop from Serie A where the options are Retegui, Beltran, Simeone, Vitinha, get Pinamonti back, Dia who fucked up his career, Lucca or maybe even a cheeky bid for Immobile...

Indeed! Now Gazzetta report that Inter have decided that they are not going to go after Zirkzee. The reason is fairly simple – the price tag.

Guess it won't surprise anyone that Jubentus want Greenwood -
Man Utd want to get rid of him while his contact expires in 2025.

Thank goodness the club is not being run by people like you with the perspective of a tiny child.

I really hate posts like this. It’s very cringy whether its on here or any other social media platform. We get it you moral queen.

People need to stop pretending they’re saints that never make any mistakes. The guy is still with the woman he beat up, has a child with her and for all we know he's a better man after that incident and learned. He was a teenager and he made a mistake. People can make mistakes and they can grow and learn.

Let me make it clear:
I would not mind mason greenwood here at all. Not one fiber in my body would. Heres an opportunity for more morale queens and saints to fish for likes.
Regardless of whether he is guilty or innocent, it doesn’t matter. Whether he is talented or not, also doesn’t matter. Fact is dude was in prison last year, you cannot underrate the importance of image and reputation aspect of the club. Signing him will bring in too much unneeded noise from the media, to a team that have proven to be full of professionals and bond well together, who also just won the Scudetto.

This is not about being morale queen, it’s about being logical.

What you just said is something I completely agree with actually. If that is your reasoning for not wanting greenwood then it makes complete sense.

However making it personal and not wanting the player because he’s a “bad human being” is something I completely disagree with. People can change. People have the right to be better. Because otherwise, In life if we make a mistake then we should just continue being cunts forever because of that one mistake? Theres no way back on the right path? Thats a notion I can’t accept.

If you'd phrased it more along these lines from the beginning, your message would've been received better.

I also believe in people being given the chance to earn a second chance. Key word here is "earn". I'd like to know if Greenwood has done anything to try and reach out towards support groups that help women who have been victims of abusive relationships. I'd like to know if he's tried to be active in charitable efforts. I'd like to know if he's tried to take steps towards being a better person, or if he basically fucked off to Spain and said "not my problem anymore". I'd like to know what his teammates think of him as a person, if he seems like a person who has matured, has realized the gravity of their past actions and is taking steps to be better for it. I completely agree, people have a lot of room for growth from things they do as teenagers, although quite obviously some things are worse than others.

(For the record, I have zero interest in Mason Greenwood at Inter.)

Where you lost your plot was immediately jumping in both feet with "moral queens" labeling. Right from the outset you were labeling people who would be opposed to a Greenwood transfer as being opposed because of an "agenda" or whatever and denying any legitimacy to their POV. Naturally, when people think their POV is being de-legitimized, they won't react well to that.

Gudmundsson's father was interviewed and he said he hopes the son stays in Italy. Maybe this man knows what's what and wants to make his son tougher.

So as I suggested, it was an interview given to a British media. Smart player obviously says good things about the league of said media's country, thus he talks about his dreams of playing in EPL. Doesn't really mean jack shit.
Ok, but can we afford him?

I don't like the idea of spending 30+mln for Gudmunson. The risk is too big. He is 27 years old, and has only one season with decent stats. He is not exactly fit in our system as well.
I doubt we are even considering him.

To secure the funds, we'd have to sell Thuram, and once we've done so and got the cash, it'd be downright foolish not to pursue Zirkzee instead.

Gudmundson's hitting his prime years, his peak; and throwing out over ~30 million for a player of his caliber would be as senseless as PSG rumoredly dropping ~100 million euros on Thuram, or to put it plainly - just stupid.
