If PSG sign Ramos I imagine they will play a back 3.

Neymar - Mbappe - Di Maria
Bakker - Veratti - Gueye - Hakimi
Kimpembe - Ramos - Marquinhos

Might as well sign McDavid, LeBron, and Mahomes as well.

Regardless of if we get a better fullback in the future, I will forever be bitter about Hakimi's departure. I will never forgive suning.

kind of was bitter about Cancelo. He seemed like a legit deal and we fkd up. He just never developed. Young players are hit and misses.

i just hope we don’t waste the money and 20 more Lazzaros

His development could have stagnated because of the clubs he played for? Who knows how well or poorly he'd turn out if he was still here.

Cancelo was immense for Juve, even best FB in the league. His style just doesn't suit England, which prioritises speed and strength. Cancelo relies on techniques & smartness.

I am sure he will be bossy here again...but dream is dream. At this time even Moses is too expensive for us :palm:

Weren't we supposed to sell before June 30 to balance the finances or something? It's July 3 already. Are we going bankrupt or what?

My working theory is that the 2020-2021 fiscal year is a write off. There's a zero percent chance we can be profitable given the lost stadium revenue, and FFP was thrown out the window.

Selling Hakimi in this fiscal year will allow us to ensure were "profitable."

Yeah it never was plusvalenza deal for 20/21 fiscal year apparently.

It seems we just wanted to agree the deal fast to have that breathing room Marotta talked about. We wanted to make the big deal to generate cash for the club.

So this had indeed nothing to do with plusvalenza.

This one hurts, especially when the guy wants to stay.

Trying to think what this says about the club, too. That you can be world class at your position, want to stay at the club, have performed for the club, won at the club...and they'll still push you out anyway all in the name of money. Should give future players more pause about considering a move here if they have alternatives and we still have the same owners as we have now.

Happens at every club and I never buy into these arguments of "it'll make other top players think twice about joining us in the future", whatever "it" happens to be.

That's not to say I condone Hakimi's sale of course, let alone for this price.

Which transfer is this in reference to? I remember it actually happening. Was it Nagatomo?

This happened with Madrid and Man Utd a few years ago when De Gea was supposed to be going to Madrid. Off the top of my head, I can't remember other occasions.

Hakimi is getting a significant wage raise as well, so don`t think he will regret the move too much consindering Conte left and we have -budget to spend. I mean he always had the option to reject the contract, it`s not like someone held a gun to his head.

Still, extremely painful, as he turns out to be our hero that saved us - both on&off the pitch. Added him to fav player.

So the amount received isn’t great and there is no replacement.
In a post-COVID world, which is likely next summer, Hakimi can bring in 100 million.

Unless this club is about to go bankrupt, this deal for this summer doesn’t make sense.
