I agree that his indolence and lack of hunger are exactly what prevent him to take "that" step.
Partially wasted talent and who knows if his attitude can improve, but well, potential is there (with an option to buy).

On a side note, about the extra spice to the derby... Ljajic was temporarily dropped off the Serbian National Team because he refused to sing the national anthem out of personal (religious) beliefs.

I don't know if Ljajic is aware of all of this correlations...something that (ideally) should stay out of the field, but still, this is football and external implications are inevitable.

Is actually a bit of a myth that they played together that often.

In 09/10 Jovetic played as an AM behind Gilardino and flanked by Vargas and Santana If I remember correctly. Ljajic played a little and he played all over the place. Sometimes in Jovetic's position, sometimes he played together with Jovetic in a Christmas tree formation.

10/11 Jovetic missed the entire season. Ljajic literally took Jovetic's place, and the viola played 4231 again.

11/12 This season Ljajic got mostly overlooked. Either for Cerci in a 433, or for Gila or Amauri in a front two.

12/13 is the season they played together a fair bit. I remember them starting up front together in a 352 a fair bit if Cuadrado was playing wingback, and on occasion they played in a front three with Cuadrado and Ljajic as wingers

I appreciate the info - I think what I was more looking for was where they played in 2013 when we were 'raped' (as people have bluntly put it - personally not fond of using that word for football matters) in Florence 4-1. I haven't found the line-ups for certain but I think they played up front together, which is unlikely to happen at Inter.
