I don' think Sunning truly understands the consequences of selling Bastoni or Skriniar. What they are thinking is just on a balance sheet or a quantitative perspective, ignoring the goodwill value of the club, and how new/current players view the club and the relationship with it. (this will affect retention and prospects signing, we can use Arsenal as a reference on the generations before and after Wenger cashing in on the players every year) To sum it up, you can't on one end ask the players for loyalty and love for the club (basically something more than just monetary value), and on the other hand treat them like commodities or trash, like they are nothing but a dollar sign.
This is sickening, disgrace, selling Hakimi and Lukaku is one thing, but selling your flag and your identity, you might as well just sell the club.
Also the best way to integrate new young players to the team is having some core members that has quality and has been with the team forever to lead them, see Madrid.
P.S. All I am saying is cause even at a commercial angle, this is trashing the long term gain for optimizing the short term gain, unless they are truly at the blink of bankruptcy then I mean sell the club, or it is really more of a Cash flow problem they need to survive, then it is like when a body is under extreme starvation, it starts using its organs to maintain basic energy supply, which is detrimental and permanent. Cause the reason a football club even has value is mostly starting from it's identity and the emotion the fans connect with it, it is not like a regular business that truly provides some intrinsic value or service (even those have brand values), stripping that away does not leave a lot left.
All in all I am just a fan being held hostage. It is frustrating.
