Is returning golden handshake to Inter part of the deal?
If you look at his previous earning 7M vs new contract 2.5M or 3M, then yes.

We paid him to get rid of him. No way we bring him back. he is an entitled big mouth ball hog. No thanks.

are we the first fking team to do this? pay someone to leave to just bring him back. I would prefer we kept a youth player and gave him Sanchez minutes especially for 3m a season

I also dont remember something like this. Pay him to leave than bring him back next season. What a joke.

We got rid of him last year because it was either him or Correa, and Correa had 0 clubs interested in him. Now that Correa's book value has gone down by another year, there are clubs vaguely interested in Correa.

In all fans' minds, and I'd imagine in the management's too, Sanchez was/is the better player, but the garbage dump fire that is our financial state meant that taking the hit and paying Sanchez to fuck off was preferable to doing that to Correa.

(Whether we should have brought Lukaku back on loan with our limited finances is a separate conversation.)

I disagree. Sanchez was clearly the last man in the pecking order during Inzaghi's first season here. I think Inzaghi just finally realizes how bad Correa is, and that he's not going to grow out of it.

That's true. Inzaghi seems to shun players who are permanently injured, e.g. Sensi after that infamous game where we ended up a man down. Sanchez was often injured during his time with us. And I think Correa's injuries last year might have made Inzaghi give up on him.

But wtf do I know. Maybe Inzaghi's simply turned vegan so Correa's skills are no longer necessary.

Regarding Growth Decree, would it apply to Sanchez? He was at Inter for 3 seasons, so would this be his 4th year in Italy since Growth Decree came into play, hence it does apply?

Does anyone know?

Also, which of our new signings does Growth Decree apply to? I presume Sommer, Carlos Augusto, Arnautovic, M. Thuram, and Bisseck?
No, he won't. However his annual cost is low anyway, if the wage net is at 2,5m-3m then it would be 4,6m-5,6m.

Not for Alexis.

Calcio e Finanza have calculated the impact these transfers will have on the Inter books:
Correa was purchased from Lazio for €32.5m in 2021 and as of June 2023 his presence at Inter is worth circa €16.9m.

As this is a loan, Inter will still cover the amortisation, but earn €2m for the loan and will not have to pay the €6.5m gross salary.

According to reports, Sanchez is going to earn €3m per season net wages on a short-term contract and as he was only in Italy a year ago, will not be able to make the most of the Growth Decree discount on his salary.

That means it will cost Inter €5.55m gross.

Nonetheless, these transfers will still give Inter a positive effect of just under €3m for this season, as it would’ve cost €14.6m to keep Correa going to €12m for this swap.

If Marseille activate the option to buy next summer, then they will make a profit of €1.5m on the entire Correa experience at San Siro.
I just want to see Correa out official and it`s a win.

Huge win if we don't have to cover Correa's salary at all.

He will always be a class player. I just hope he has changed his attitude a bit and better understands his role in the squad compared to when he left.

He needs to focus more on his movement and play-making abilities and less on trying to directly take on the opponent. As long as he doesn’t try to be a star or start bitching about playing time again he will be fine.

Also he needs to retire from the NT.

Why are we so confident that Correa wont fail the medical???
This ☝️ I said to my brother yesterday that he’d fail to run on a treadmill properly or something to sabotage…
