So, let me get this straight:

Inter don't want to pay 21M for Morata. If Atletico don't budge, we'll go for Balogun, for whom Arsenal are asking at least 40M.

Yeah, that makes sense.

35M+bonus > Morata

20m is just too much. Forget this then.

Is it that a sale triggers a tax? If so why don’t they work around it by loaning him out for a fee equal to whatever?

Looking at the prices of available strikers, their age & quality, my preference for Lukaku replacement would be:

1. Taremi, 20-25m
2. Hojlund, 50-60m
3. Balogun, 30-40m
4. Scamacca, 30-40m
5. Nzola/Beto, 15-25m
6. Morata - should not even be an option

My preference for Correa replacement would be:
1. Dybala, 20m
2. Sanchez, free
3. Boulaye Dia, 25-30m
4. Morata, 15-20m
5. Keep Correa

That said, I prefer the combo of Hojlund+Sanchez over Taremi+Dybala mainly coz of the future+experience combo. However the former combo is unrealistic, Taremi+Dybala is what I would do in Marotta's shoes.

I disagree that 50-60m is too overpriced for Hojlund. If he were an Inter player, I would be gutted if we sold him for any less. You gotta price in the potential & Hojlund has got that in loads.

Hojlund isn't happening. Man U will buy him just to bench him and sell him at a loss in a couple years. Maybe we can get him then.

Not sure why you think Hojlund's price is 50 million though. Most recent rumours say Atalanta are looking for between 65-70 million, which is a big difference. He'd be my #1 option as well.

No way Sanchez comes back under Inzaghi.

Imo, Scamacca should not be an option for that type of money. With Balogun there is the potential of selling him back to EPL. If Scamacca flops here, it's not as if an Italian club will pay big for him, and he already 'failed' in England.

Anyone know what they are referring to when they say it's a matter of taxes? We definitely shouldn't pay 21 million for Morata although I could see us going for some type of loan + obligation deal that may circumvent whatever they are referencing.

Also, as far as I know, every La Liga player has a release clause as it's mandatory in Spain. So Morata definitely has one, although it might not be the 21 million they refer to since the release clauses tend to be extremely high there.

I'm confident he will reach 10 goals in all competition if not in serieA.

That is exactly what I'm saying. Hojlund+Sanchez is unrealistic. So I want Taremi+Dybala.

Also it seems like Atalanta are starting negotiation at 70m, so I'm guessing 50-60m may be possible. Atalanta have actually been quite a reasonable club in transfer negotiations as its part of their operating model.

Our management don't want bidding war against MU. Its wasting time and they sure the result is lose. Stop dreaming Hojlund, except Lautaro sold.

Unless Inzaghi out, Sanchez never be comeback. Dybala already too expensive for us and Inzaghi want classic 9.

Taremi 30m, and we never be interested bidding war with Milan.

Its Morata vs Balogun, clear as day.

This has to be the most shit mercato ever. Losing quality left and right and replaceme them with Sommer, Bisseck and Morata. And Cuadrado oh top of that😂
Yes, I feel like this isn’t mentioned enough.

Marotta sold Brozovic for a pathetic 17m. Sold Skriniar for 0m. Sold Onana for something in the region of 50-55m when we could’ve realistically squeezed out another 5-10m.

Lost Lukaku (which is fine) but then the best replacement he can come up with is this bum? Just shows how out of touch he is.

On top of that we extended de Vrij AT THE SAME wages (????) and I won’t even mention Cuadrado.

Marotta taking giant fucken L after L, as per usual. Fucken 1/10 mercato so far with the 1 being Frattesi.

Why you guys ignore all the good deals is beyond me. Just to make the situation worse than it actually is.

Dont forget we have 0 money to operate, tens of expiring contracts and players aren't ours yet to buy. For example "don't extend De Vrij" is easy choice but who will play beside a 35yo Acerbi? You?

Perhaps we wouldn't have had to extend de Vrij if we didn't let our world class CB walk for free?

Had Skriniar stayed we would not have signed Cuadrado. De Vrij still extends.

don't forget Inter are left without a real 1st GK atm apart from Radu, young Stankovic, and Di Gennaro.
