It was not a monetary issue.

Also, Genoa doesn't want any money from us, it's all just accounting as we're cancelling out their transfer, it's like 1-2m total that must go their way and it might not be anytime soon.

We need a fourth forward. I'm willing to give him a shot if our alternative is Llorente.

Good guy Inter to the rescue once again :palm:

Ranocchia wants to stay - no problem.
Candreva have one more child - let's give him new contract. He needs money now.
Gagliardini and Vecino don't like to leave - no problem, we'll sell brozo and Eriksen instead.

:mad::mad::mad:

I'll say this much - to a certain extent, trying to do right by your players, and trying to do right by the promises you make with other teams (at least, the promises that aren't completely stupid, unforced mistakes, anyway) is a good way to foster positive club relations as well as player recruitment. As much as that sucks and burns us when it involves guys like Vecino and Gagliardini being hard to get rid of, and is obviously something we need to do a better job of from a pure player evaluation viewpoint, if players know the club will (try to) do right by them, theoretically that should make the club look more appealing to go to.

I'm not saying we always do this, mind you. We've kicked our fair share of players out unceremoniously over the years. #InterBalls and all of that. But I would rather try and maintain positive relations with players and clubs than try and weasel out of situations and look like jerks in the process. That feels more like a winning battles but losing wars approach.

There goes the explanation of cashflow or other financial issues with Tonali if we actually pay 19m€ for Pinamonti. :D

We already gonna pay 4m€ for Males, 19-year-old kid who we gonna flip on loan to Genoa immediately.

Insane fucking stuff. We are not poor, we are just playing some odd fucking game here. Honoring all the promises despite COVID, though not honoring the promise to Tonali's agent.

This whole mercato is really baffling. If we don't have money to spend then why are we spending 25m for Pinamonti, Darmian and a youngster from Swiss league? If the issue is the wage bill then why are we going after players with high wages like Kolarov, Vidal and Pinamonti? None of it makes any sense.

FCIN\s report of the pinamonti meeting is that its a diplomatic one trying to work out what to do with the kid, rather than Inter trying to sign him back.

He just doesnt make sense as 4th choice - we might as well keep Espoisto.

Well Pinamonti is surely better than Esposito as 4th striker but still not good enough I fear. The biggest issue however is obviously the price and the salary. I don't get it how he has 3m€ net salary but I have a feeling we fucked up somewhere down the road with that one.

TBH Its not about good enough - kids like them need to be out there developing. The most important decider for whether their career will succeed or not right now is number of minutes in action. Balotelli worked because he did actually get some serious game time with Inter. You either need a kid who is on his way to being a first team starter (not gonna happen with Lukaku and Lautaro), or an older guy who is reliable (OGS, Cruz, players like that)

If we need a backup striker, we should be signing someone like 27+.

So Genoa can sign Perin and fuck up playing time of Radu but we somehow need to respectfull of the deals and take pinamonti back for that ridiculous sum of money??

It sucks but probably we underestimate the importance of these smaller clubs such as Genoa and Co for the bug clubs like us and Juve. They probably have come in our aid many times with shady deals for youngsters and such so maybe it makes sense...

effectively we'd be paying 2m to loan pinamonti to genoa for a year, which, if he develops, isnt the worst thing in the world.

as cafe poinst out though, the challenge is the wages

Yeah 2m€ loan wasn't bad (+plusvalenza gained). He played 2400 minutes. What sucks is he scored only 5 league goals, 2 in Coppa. It's not good for the kid to be 4th striker.

What's good him staying is he wouldn't have courage to moan about playing time behind Lukaku (though Llorente wouldn't do this either). And the biggest one, he's club trained so extra spot for other senior players in the team (as 4th striker wouldn't take one of thebä 17 free spots).

Genoa was a shitshow though. They started the season with like 5 strikers and added Destro and Falqué in January, switching the duo upfront nearly every game. Changed their GK, sacked managers. It was wild, not easy to perform in those circumstances imo.

According to Pedulla, Inter are going to honour their promise to Genoa and bring back Pinamonti for 19m. Then they will decide if he's going to stay as 4th forward or he will go on loan elsewhere.

If he was given 3 million by another team we don’t have to match it. As for 19 million..... that will be players. Can’t we give them
Candreva and Rano. They give us this kid + 2 million.

If we give this kid 3 million a season I give up on this team.

Does Lautaro currently make 3? No wonder Esposito wanted 1.5 million after 1 goal at 17. The team just gives retarded wages
