If it wasn't for Handanovic, I should have named him MOTM.

Great game, keep it up !

He had a great game today, good to see him in this form.

Question, how many yellows do you need before you are suspended for 1 match? Is it 4?

I was calling it last season that Ranocchia should be playing as the centre of a back three. He's been exceptional so far this season. Really proving it now.

Let me point one thing please, he brainfarts at times see tonight phase when he tried to dribble 2 times unnecessary. He opened the ball very dangerously there..

Juan did the same and even the great Campagnaro got sloppy with a few passes. It happens.

I thought Ranocchia always had the physical talent to be a good defender. He just needed a strong coach. Now he he has one lets hope Mazzarri can keep him focused and performing. He had his moments last year even with the the horrid season Inter had.

I beg to differ, his physicality also makes him slow, and that's a negative.

He is slow and yet ran past few VIola players for few times :D

He aint slow, he is just clumsy and has low acceleration.

As for yesterday, ALMOST is the key word. He 'almost' lost the ball, but he didnt, did he? And he even made Viola players monkeys, one of the will take out grass from his ass for 3 days

He was everywhere, tackling, heading, guarding the ball, even dribbling... Monster game.

I disagree, I think his top speed is just below average, low pace, low acceleration, and clumsy.

If anything, it's his anticipation, heading, passing, tackling that are the stand out points of his play. Concentration and decision making can still be improved.

Sure his height helps him winning aerial balls, but his slow pace restricts him from 1v1 fast paced attackers, and to me that is a negative because that means it restricts the type of role we can put him in. Although that can also be said for a lot of players.

You dont need pace to be good 1 on 1 defender. But agility and acceleration. He doesnt have that. But he does have pace on long runs.

Cambi for instance has always been slow as fuck, but he was more agile and had higher acceleration when younger, so he could predict and move fast to steal a ball.

That's only because Cambiasso has good anticipation of the next move.

What I really meant about Ranocchia was his overall package does not give him the ability to be good at 1v1, which I incorrectly stated as pace, it should have been his 'slowness' or whatever.

So you do agree Ranocchia's physical traits restricts the type of role he is able to play somewhat? Which in other words, he cannot be classified as a 'physical talent'?
