On a positive note, I think the foundations laid for this squad are good to excellent. Hopefully next year, with a coach who is able to read games that are happening literally in front of him and a better mentality, we’ll do amazing.

When we're in a Scudetto race - or, at least, telling ourselves that we are - on what planet is a Round of 16 Coppa game more important? That makes no sense. Nobody would say that because nobody feels that way.

Problem comes from some of the other games, especially Milan, where the results differed. Milan beat Samp away, we lost. Big difference. They've also already cleared one of their Juve head-to-heads; we still have both of ours. Now, sure, that could actually be an advantage in a vacuum, but nobody here actually has much confidence things will turn out well in either of those games. We also obviously lost the first head-to-head against Milan as well.

Through equivalent fixtures last season to this season, we're one point worse off now than we were then. We were a few minutes away from moving into +1 territory, but, you know, Conte and his subs and completely inept game management reared their wig-wearing head again, and so here we are.

Vidal got injured and Gagliardini replaced him, Lautaro gave so much in 75 minutes, I wanted him to help the team in the defensive phase, Hakimi run so much, he was losing the ball possession too frequently, we’ve played three games in a week, those players have always played and we have substitutions we can use.

Yeah it looks like this. He can almost NEVER get a result when it really matters. This season has been horrible in this regard. Napoli troll win being the only exception and even that was more about Politano and Petagna unable to score glorious chances than Conte having a brilliant game plan and subs.

This season is almost like ruined already. Next weekend is the last moment to keep it going. Not winning the derby d'Italia is unacceptable.

I will simply bring back this old post of mine. Very defensive subs after 2-1. Conte is under the illusion he's still at Juventus where he defended a lead and Barzagli-Bonucci-Chiellini trio brought him the win. The defence has been poor all season so we can't count on it in oder to get the win. When you have the momentum and you dominate the opponent you need to try and get a comfortable lead instead of trying to pretect the lead.

Conte needs to realise he isn't still at Juventus where he was going into full defensive mode after scoring a goal counting on the defensive trio to get him the win. Napoli were unlucky and Spezia didn't have the quality but if you go on like this sooner or later you're going to get punished.
