Conte speaks ahead of Juventus-Inter friendly match

Antonio Conte spoke to the media ahead of the match between Inter Milan and Juventus which is scheduled for tomorrow (13:30 CEST) in the International Champions Cup.

"Playing these games helps you to assimilate even more the game concepts we work on, in the possession and non-possession phase. We analyze the positive and negative things in order to improve," he said.

"Vecino? He returned with an injury and is therefore working, he is very close to coming back. Godin started training with us. They are two excellent players and I am happy to have them available.

"It will be an important friendly against Juventus. Both teams are still in preparation and both we and they will try to play a good game and we hope to see improvements beyond the result.

"The transfer market? Reflections will be made and decisions will be taken for the good of Inter, taking into account everything, not just the field.

"It takes time to create a solid base to bring the club to the highest level. The changes that the new ownership has brought are under everyone's eyes.

"Chelsea? My English experience enriched me professionally but now I am happy to be back in Italy and be in charge of one of the most important teams in the country.

"I've never been close to Juventus, I never received a call. Inter has always shown great interest and affection. I, therefore, feel a great responsibility to create something important," Conte concluded.

Zero games played and we're already missing Spalletti lol only FIF.
You shouldn't delete the first part of my post because it contains the points for the last sentence :)

I don't miss Spalletti just yet. I said the squad is significantly better on paper for his formation (4-2-3-1). Half of our players are useless for Conte's 3-5-2. Perisic+Politano are removed completely. Karamoh gone. Candreva, who are on verge of out, is now starter cuz he is a hardworking WB. Similar for Dalbert and his "speed". We don't have enough players for starters, let alone squad depth.

Also Spalletti could use false nine. Instead of enjoying Chiesa AND Fekir, now we have to be ripped of with Lukaku alone to seek the target man for 3-5-2. And seeing ManU use that money to buy SMS.

I don't even mention the (not small) possibility that Conte doesn't last long here (either sacked, or even rage quit). We would be left with a bunch of clumsy players no one else knows how to use.

New rumor online on media sites is that he also doesn't want Politano anymore and that Poli was offered to Roma as a Dzeko swap deal.
Conte does not care about Inter or Suning money, he just wants his men. And considering that Dzeko and Lukaku are his target men, along with Martinez to play up there (+Ivan if not sold), Politano`s time will be limited, so he is expandable in his view. At least we did not publicly put him on the summer garage sale, to instantly decrease his market value.

According to the Gazzetta dello Sport, Marotta and Ausilio had an inquiry with Roma during negotiation with Dzeko but they did not show interest in Politano and only want to sell Dzeko for cash. Now I don`t know how this would make sense, Politano is rated €30m while Dzeko is at max worth €14m. So how was this supposed to work? Even if you would include Kolarov would barely make up the numbers... I`m not buying this rumour. According to Il Messagero, Roma have had contact with the agent of Matteo Politano. However, this is only a hypothesis so far and no concrete step have been taken.

Looks like Marotta didn't forget Politano when he said "we have only one forward" in that interview, another one tossed to the discard pile by Conte
He probably does not see him as a forward [striker] but a winger - which is true. But nobody got it as wrong as our website editors, placing Candreva as a striker :palm: https://www.inter.it/en/coversquadra

According to Panorama, Chinese ownership reiterated the desire to invest an a major way to build a great team. And Conte, in fact, has received three promises from Suning.

1. The first is the arrival of Edin Dzeko as soon as possible. Panorama reports that negotiation will close in the first few days of next week and the agreement with Roma is very close. This deal is wanted to be done by all involved.

2. The second promise is Inter will make a new attempt for Lukaku. “In the end, everyone’s feeling is that the player will come. Inter are ready to make a new offer, higher than the €65M presented to Manchester United. The new one will be €70M, perhaps €75M but it won’t be higher than that. A figure that is not too far from €83M requested by the English club.

3. The third is the promise of a new wing back, an important name. I guess we need to sell Dalbert 1st.

“Vecino came from an injury and is therefore working, respecting his recovery times even if we’re very close to his return.

“Godin has started training with us. They’re two excellent players and I’m happy to have them available.”

Finally some players Conte likes.

Candreva played cuz Lazaro is injured, Dalbert played cuz Perišić is shit and there was no Asamoah. This Politano romuor is biggest bullshit I've read in a long time, doesn't come from creditable source. Stop bitching about nothing.

Marotta brought Conte because he knows what he wants so why didn't he work on finding good replacements for Perisic and Canreva? Why wait 8 months to start looking? How is he different from someone like Ausilio?

Candreva is fine to use as a back-up and I think the initial plan was to use Perisic as a wingback....after seeing him actually train and play in his system, it doesn't fit.

Agreed but when you hear Marotta you would assume he is like a twin brother to Conte and knows what he wants and how he thinks etc. But it it turns out he doesn't know him all that well after all.

They aren't even good enough for the bench, if there is no change of formation.

Selling Politano? That's the best thing I've heard this mercato.

Conte hates Inter fans

Undeniable video evidence right here

seems like he is starting to relaxing a litle bit.. at the first press conference i said that maybe it was the warm weather, thats why he looks so "unhappy" but it was not a case. And considering what he said before the United game i can understand the reason. Watching that video and the Inter-Juve press conference it feels like he's smiling again. Hopefully a good signal.

Glad to see that some still recognize the genius of spalletti. Similar to Mazzari's reign, the club could not support their expertise and we will be left saying"if he only had one more year..."

I think it is expected when you guys (not you, varmin, but people who did) asking for Spalletti's head and praising top coach (aka Conte)?

Since day 1, I said at least half of the squad needs to be replaced. Changing coach meant we demolished everything and built year zero from scratch. The worse thing is, because 50m was spent on that we would have less money hence sticking to mediocrity.

Conte might be a better coach than Spallo. But Spallo with e.g Chiesa is miles better than Conte with Candreva.
I personally wanted Mou back, exactly for the reasons you pointed out. But now Conte is on charge and i've chosen to support him instead to shit on him like some other FIF members. It's matter of choice, everybody has his own opinion. About Spalletti - i also suppored him until he's lost the locker room and therefore our gameplay was pure tragedy. Let's put aside tactics and formations. For me Conte is better than Spalletti because of his mentality. He's is a winner (or cheater if you ask Brehme). Spalo is a likeble guy but his cowardly approach was conveyed to the players themselves. I think that Conte is able to break the "winter" curse of Inter and to pull out the team of the negative series of results which happens every season due to his "mentality".
Saying that, i'm still free to disagree with some merkato moves but i'm doing that as a fan with no clue about coach's ideas, tactics and knowledge of Inter players. Even with unpopular transfers, i'm on Conte side for now unless he wents to the Spalletti, Mazzari, Mancini's and the other before them path - loosing the control over the players and unability to recover the team after a breakdown.

Winter curse applies only if you're in a good position in the table come winter. Conte will have to accomplish that first :lol::lol:

Not saying that he won't, just saying, don't count your chickens yet.

Those of you who are rejecting Lukaku you are also already rejecting Conte at the same time...

I'm not surprised at all

I want to fully support Conte, but I also wanted Spalletti to stay. Imagine getting Sensi and Barella, bringing some attacker so we don't have to play Politano as striker if Martinez gets hurt, and selling Perišić and Icardi so we can buy some great/soon to be great wingers :(

we were closer to greatness than we are now, I think
