Ok to you what matters is country of birth. To another what matters is ethnicity. To another what matters is where a player developed as a pro. Why is your opinion worth more than others? Just because? Im sure you could argue any of those points.

Costa never played A MINUTE of pro football in Brazil. Spain made him the player who he is.

If that's where his heart is, why are you arguing against it? You know nothing about the guy.

If he feels Spain in his heart thats all that matters. Home is where the heart is.

Just because they aren't beret wearing baguette eating cyclists does not mean they are not french..
Henry, for example, was born in France, lived there until he left for professional footballing reasons, etc.

Tell me, if he isn't french, what is he?

african , his both parents were african

african that spent much of his life in France.

Look , from the post above you can see that I am not supporting neither Europeans, Africans, Or Asians.

If that's how you really feel then all of your posts regarding Januzaj and so called traitors are just retarded. It's like the second face of the coin and you are arguing on both fronts.

Im just saying its clear Diego Costa loves Spain. The language, culture, women, football, he is loyal to that shirt. He will die for that shirt.
When he dies hell be buried with a Spanish flag. When he watches porn its Spanish porn. When he drinks beer its Spanish beer.

Footballers live and grow in different places. When you start your career, you might have lived more in one place, but you when you finish it, you might have lived more in another. When you start your career, your family has one heritage, and when you end your career your family has another heritage. What matters is how you feel.

He spent his WHOLE life in france. Not just much of it.

I *could* see the argument in calling him African if he moved to France at, say, 15, 18. But he didnt. He was born and raised there. He is French. No matter whether you like it or not.

Like I said this is my opinion. I have my beliefs and they are well defined, not saying it is right, but I believe that, until globalization happens.

Well, your opinion is wrong sadly.

Henry is as french as you can get, basically. If we were arguing about someone who naturalized aged 18 or something, we can probably talk about it, but someone who was born in france, and lived there most of his life, speaks french as a first language (etc) is french. simple as, no argument.

In your opinion you are not Macedonian. Which is fine, its entirely up to you. Just like its Henry's opinion that he is indeed French.

Sorry, Pimping, but you are again wrong.

Assimilated nationality means, for example, if Henry was 12 and moved to France and then 'became' French. Then he would be assimilated.

as·sim·i·late (-sm-lt)
v. as·sim·i·lat·ed, as·sim·i·lat·ing, as·sim·i·lates
v.tr.
1. Physiology
a. To consume and incorporate (nutrients) into the body after digestion.
b. To transform (food) into living tissue by the process of anabolism; metabolize constructively.
2. To incorporate and absorb into the mind: assimilate knowledge.
3. To make similar; cause to resemble.
4. Linguistics To alter (a sound) by assimilation.
5. To absorb (immigrants or a culturally distinct group) into the prevailing culture.
v.intr.

Born into a culture means that it IS his, not that he has incorporated it.

So ethnicity doesn't matter? All Old World countries should employ an ethnicity limit. I.E. no more than 2-3 players without full/partial descent in that country.

I'm sorry man, but when you see France and you see 10 black guys out of 11, it's like wtf? Yes, French is their nationality, and if they are born there they have a right to play, but there should be a limit on the amount of non-ethnic players on the starting 11.

Look at Italy, Spain, Germany. Almost all players on starting 11 have full or partial ethnic descent from those countries. While places like France and Belgium throw those notions out the window.

Again this is only for Old World countries (Europe, Africa, Asia), where there is a clear established ethnicity, not new World places like U.S., South America, Australia, etc...

Who gives a fuck about ethnicity? It depends exclusively on where you feel culturally identified to. As long as the person playing 'feels' French, its fine. Dont give a shit about the skin colour (for example) of said player.

It's not just about skin colour. I.E. the German NT shouldn't be composed of 10 ethnic English players.

Don't give me that leftist bullshit. Ethnicity/genes play a great part in your sporting career. Just like people of sub-Saharan African descent are the best sprinters, because they have more fast twitching muscle fibers in their thighs. Why is there only one white guy who has broken the 10 second barrier in 100m track?

And in football, the players that have the most innate/spontaneous footballing intelligence are of Southern/European Mediterrenean descent. 90-95% of the most creative #10s/Second Strikers have full/partial Southern European/Mediterrenean descent.

And no it's not because of the system. When Messi was 5 years old and he was leaving people for dead dribbling 6-7 people like it was nothing (it's true watch his vids), was it because of amazing Argentinian coaching, or La Masia development?

I knew this debate would become about skin color :palm:

i don't give a fuck about skin color either, its not that I don't like players with african descent for western european countries, I don't also like balkan players playing for western countries

Diego Costa doesn't really feel Spanish though... He said that he hasn't given up on being Brazilian, that his Family lives in Brazil and that when he retires he'll return to Brazil..... So really Diego Costa is not a good example for anything. He's just playing for Spain because he thinks thats best for his career.

Wtf.... Are you saying people pick other countries instead of where their family is from, because of financial/career reasons? No.....That's not possible....
