I've watched Soares play often over the years, Southampton is one of my favourite stadiums to visit in the UK. He is a decent RB, looks good going forward but nothing special. For me it was very surprising that Santos preferred him over Cancelo during the World Cup last year.

If its a low cost loan deal with an option to buy, I guess its ok. It just means we are returning Vrsaljko due to his injuries.

I’ve been reading a lot about how Cedric is a good crosser on this last days here and also on other forums, well for me, unless he improved immensely in Southampton while at the same time continued being average in that for the NT, that’s just not true.

IMO it’s one of his biggest gaps since ever, he’s better at defending but he often gives depth to the attack, the problem is that his crosses are often off target, now imagine when you have a player as good as Ronaldo when it comes to heading on the box and the crosses keep missing him again and again.

Just went and checked his stats on transfermark, 22 assists in 244 matches.

It seems he is an average fullback at best and Inter should refrain from taking the option to buy. He will be an emergency stopgap until we reach the next transfer window. I guess it will be another perpetual fullback mercato again.

He looks to me like a mix between Shaqiri and Chef Tony.

Eagerly waiting to see if his cartoon version looks just like D'Ambrosio, do we still do those when we sign a player?

Yeah and this move isn't in competition to move for midfield.

This was obviously a fast transfer for an acute need which is RB position because apparently Vrsaljko's knee is in bad shape (so maybe requires surgery?). We just filled that empty spot with a minimal cost.

For midfield we can recruit another European champ, next up William Carvalho or Rapha Guerreiro

Him and D'Ambrosio have 3 things in common.

  • Right backs
  • Mediocre players (according to FIF members, i'm yet to watch Cederic the entertainer)
  • Male models
Kings of Comedy is a good way to start.

Such a beautiful guy, paying attention to his upper body as well. Let`s hope he can sell some shirts in the gay community lol :D

Very good deal to quickfix, practically we risk nothing [€500k] and we have a player for EL, while his current market value is €15m.

I see him very useful in going forward [Cancelo/Vrsajlko role], however I know little about his defending possibilities [fellow portugese FIF members say he is actually better at defending so that`s comforting]. Under the radar, proper age, what`s not to like about this move? Better than the Caceres deal for sure lol.

While I think the deal is very good, I started to think it may be a bit too good to be true and started to be a bit suspicious.

It is a very opportunistic move to take advantage of Soares falling out with the new coach at Southampton. Just 0.5m for a loan :notbad:

This move seems to have Marotta's fingerprints all over it.

Cant say I've heard anything positive about this guy, from his crosses to his defending. July 2019 can't come soon enuf.

Ok, so this was the reasn behind this deal.

The week has been dominated by transfer news, with Cedric Soares arriving on loan with option to buy from Southampton, while Sime Vrsaljko continues to struggle with injury since his temporary switch from Atletico Madrid.

There are rumours Vrsaljko could require surgery, which would mean sending him back to Madrid six months early.

“You all know Cedric,” said the Coach in his Press conference. “You also know Vrsaljko’s situation and the UEFA limitations. Right now, we are evaluating together with him, the club and Atletico what is best for the player to do.”
