Nope, I live in the United States. Not too common to find die hard football fans like myself, so the casual one's just go with all the stardom and names that Real Madrid have.

In America, very few would vote against Beckham in a world's best player poll.

I don't get it, why are you guys happy that Bremen beat Valencia? Had Valencia won, we would be 6 points above the 3rd placed team. Now, if we ever lose to Valencia in the next round and Bremen win away in Belgium, all Inter, Bremen and Valencia will all have 6 points and the competition will be tighter.

Yeah, I don´t get it either. This was the worst that could happen.

Well, perhaps our fellow optimistic Interisti hopes that we can not only qualify but finish as the group leader and avoid the big teams.

Am I right? :p Being the pessimist that I am, I just hope that we'll qualify. Valencia beating Bremen would mean that our chance of qualify is higher. Bremen beating Valencia would mean that our chance of being the group leader is higher. Draw? The best of 'em all. :p

It is both good and bad that Werder Bremen won. In the 1/8 finals the eight winners will meet the eight runner-ups. ;)

I do, absolutely. Valencia and us are clearly the biggest teams of the group so let´s hope we win it avoiding some big team maybe.

Valencia beating Bremen would mean that our chance of qualify is higher.
Well true. However I can´t see us not going throug the group stage after seing the standard of Anderlecht and our win vs. Bremen.

I'm the one who doesn't get it... I really don't see how Werder can challenge us. So a Valencia defeat meant that we can go to Spain to get a draw, and then try and beat them at the S Siro to win the group. Simple, right?

Yeah, just as simple as it was supposed to be beating Spartak at home last season.

I can understand where Jimmy and Handoyo are coming from but we shouldnt worry too much about them, we should be happy that were clear 1st. I know that can all change but its better to be first on your own then sharing it with Valencia 6 all. At least we go into the game with an advantage, espcially if thegame is there. true? So its better for us.

So after 2 rounds we are in an ideal position to finish 1st and if we do we play 2nd from another group. example just imagine that the one of the groups finished liek this.

1. Arsenal
2. Rosenberg
3. gfdgfgfg
4. fgfdgffg

Who would u rather be facing? ;)

Let's be honest and realistic, if we have to fight with Werder to go through after getting 6 points in 2 games, we're better off going out. Even if we lose in Valencia we certainly can win at the S Siro, and we'll have 9 points.

Therefore I don't see any reasons to worry about the Germans.

Helal: I understand that it's better to finish as the winner rather than the runner-up. But if Valencia won, it would mean a better chance for us to qualify, but not to finish as the group leader. Being the pessimistic that I am, I'd aim to qualify not to finish as a group leader. :p

I just realised a mistake. :D It was Lokomitiv. ;)

I understand Handoyo and I agree with him..

valencia is our strongest rival... (on paper), and with they are winning other games against other opponent, they will go thru...
so inter has to worry only to beat the other two less strong opponents...

the problem is bremen, bremen is considered as weaker opponent, but they can beat valencia, so they cant be too weak.. in fact it's becoming three horse race rather than two...

so with bremen beating valencia we have to deal with two strong opponents instead of one..

Exactly. This is the Champions League where if we hope to continue we'll be facing some of the finest teams in Europe, let alone some silly Werder Bremen. We should be able to easily get past this group, no excuses.

We don't belong here otherwise.

We already have 6 points. In the last 2 CL campaigns 9 points were enough to go through. So there's only one team we should worry about: Inter. Only if we manage a disaster like last year (no more wins after the first 2 ) we can go out. That's not gonna happen.

yeah, last year reallyy sucked, cuper made the two easy wins ...
he got fired and suddenly we're beaten by kiev and voila... we're out..

we need another two wins and after then we can field in backups for giving them more playing time..

It's Lokomotiv Moskow! Not Kyiv or Spartak Moskow! :p

Seriously, for me finishing as the group leader or runner-up may not be too much difference anyway, due to the level of competitiveness of this year's CL. Barca may finish runner-up to Milan in their group. We may meet Bayern Munchen or Ajax from Juve's group. Or Lyon and Deportivo from Man Utd's and Liverpool's group respectively.

Anyway, I guess I should stop complaining and enjoy the 6 points. :D

Yes no real difference there, but u never no we might get a good draw, instead of facing Arsenal we face Rosenberg. Yes it might not happen, yes we might face somone like Barca. But at least u give yourself the best possible chance to get the best draw.
