I don't understand at all shitting on Marotta after securing transfer of one of the best midfielders on the world. Moreover, securing this transfer in winter mercato which is the time when transfer market has no many options. When I heard Eriksen rumors for the first time I was thinking that we are wasting our time and we should focus on more realistic players, but it turned out that Marotta & Ausilio did their job.

Everyone is apparently a fly on the wall during these negotiations.

Not the points specifically, but the growing pattern of losing control after 65' and having no offensive weapon probably factored into levy's resistence to bargain. Also, it is January and there wasnt a player even close to eriksen's quality. It's not as if we had a player to fall back on.

by all accounts, levy is someone very hard to deal with. personally, i don't think he even knows our latest results.

my point was that marotta should not have tried to negotiate to begin with. we would have had eriksen two weeks earlier.

not having a fall back option, if anything, represents one more reason why, in this case, he should not have pushed the negotiations. had he failed, we would not have had an option.

anyways, all of this matters for those who believed in the scudetto, like i did (now, hardly at all), because it could have been decided by one point. so having the player earlier could have made a difference.

if our goal is merely another champions league qualifications, then it most likely won't make any difference.

i watched the 20 minute he was playing against Watford and it was enough to say that youre statement is wrong. People make it always sound like Eriksen is playing like Vecino in this last months/years.

Personally I think it will take alot more then Eriksen in order to 'help' Inter go the next level. There is still a lack of quality with the Inter team that not even Eriksen will be able to solve

I agree. Two quality wing backs on top of Eriksen and perhaps a Vecino upgrade (Allan?) and a proper replacement for Godin. Thats what we need to compete for the Scudetto next season.

Not at all. Hes had good moments but basically faded in and out of games. Even with Denmark. His form has been very mixed. Would be a mistake to think his signing will save our season ala Sneijder. Remember it took Modric a while to settle at Real.

Our roster is better than Napolis. Like I said in Conte thread, if we don't finish above Lazio Conte should be fired.

our players ARE a problem. not the only problem, maybe not the biggest problem, but are indeed a problem. sometimes, the so called "big" teams win even though the opponent has played better. not because of luck, but because of their better players.

we need to add quality to this team. and eriksen is a good beginning.

the fact that he hasn't played well lately doesn't mean much imho. all of tottenham is kind of down lately.

Our defence and attack is better but Napoli have a better midfield (at least before Eriksen). I agree that if we finish behind Lazio the season should be considered a failure. Finishing second should be the minimum for this season.
