I was at work when i found out about this and I was so happy I nearly shouted out loud. These past months I could not stand Zac being coach and I believe we are better off without him. I admit i did feel a tiny bit of sympathy when I read the article on his resignation but I am just so thankful he is gone.

So roll on the next coach who will give us hope with great results - but stumble at the crucial moments and eventually get the sack or leave.

What can I say... I was wrong!! The rumours of Zac´s departure and Mancini´s arrival were true.

Well personally I find it very odd that Zac wasn´t informed of Transfer matters! I understand Alberto Zaccheroni´s decision. His love for Inter made him realize that without respect for him as the coach no good would come out of it.

So: Thank you, Alberto Zaccheroni, for your resignation!! :star:

Also for the saving of Inter after Cuper´s disastrous start of the season and finishing fourth!! You truly did the best you could under the circumstances!!

Grazie Zac! :proud:

Moratti is a huge Inter fan, and I thank him for his money. However I hoped that after his latest mistakes (sacking Cuper with the wrong timing) he would finally lead Inter better. Apparently he has learned NOTHING! Continuity is what Inter needs and Moratti gives us the opposite.

Now that it seems pretty certain that Mancini will be the new coach I just see the latest chapter of the neverending nightmare...

However I never loose my hope and regardless of who will be the new coach of Inter I just wish him luck - he will need it. :)

This is the moment of truth. And to be frank I don´t like it. :(

This is really no way to treat people by Inter...Zac came in and did a good job whether we like his tactics or not he got us what we wanted,no way to pay him back this way, poor guy is an Inter fan. This is just bad karma for the club...and in the future this will show that we cant trust the club nor can the coaches get the faith from them really..

Thanx Zac for everything and i wish Mancini all the luck although i would have wanted Capello..
Of course I totally agree with Ziyad. He simply pointed out the root of Inter´s problems: The management.

Allow myself to try and give people a good laugh... This might have been part of Moratti´s mastermind plan to conquer the Scudetto for next season!!

:D

Gazetta says the deal won't officially be confirmed for another week as minor details need to be sorted out 1st.

guys what if we can't get him....

From channel4.com
Lazio chief Ugo Longo, who was surprised by Facchetti’s revelation, echoed this view.

“I find it very hard to believe that Inter have named Mancini as their new Coach,” he noted. “He has a contract with Lazio until 2008 and no Inter representative, nor Mancini himself, have asked for it to be terminated.”

“He cannot sign two contracts, so we will wait and see what our rights are in this situation. It would certainly be an incomprehensible move by both parties, as there are federal rules about contracts and they must be respected. We didn’t plan for this sort of thing,” he confessed.

From Inter.it

Facchetti said:
"With Mancini, who is one of the best young coaches around, negotiations are under way but no agreement has yet been concluded. I say this to underline the fact that he hasn't already been here for a while, which is what some people have been saying."

We can't fire people, we can't hire people and i don't know what we can do right. I am really neutral in this situation: Zac should've been given the full chance and then judged, yet there were many signs that Zac wasn't up to the job.

I really respect Zac for resigning and saving us millions unlike Cuper who is still being paid and doesn't want to coach anywhere else. Zac is a what you call a Man, i hope him success and I will be a fan of his now.

About Mancini, it seems that it's not a done deal. Lazio's officials are unhappy with the siutation and this is good for us. I mean Mancio is gonna come no question but then their management will be so pissed that they won't sell us Oddo or Cesar. That is good for us, i want Mancio to continue with our current squad because we have a good midfield and he should work into defence.

Finally, i guess Moratti doesn't care about his reputation. He lied before selling Crespo, he said he won't fire Cuper and he said Zac will be our coach for next year. Can we believe him now? Anyway, i hope there is a doctrine that says that Mancini should be our coach for at least 4 yrs. NO MORE COACHING CHANGES PLEASE!!!

According to fachetti on gazetta we don't have to talk to lazio so I think there is a clause or something maybe like capello at roma when he went to juve??

Yeah i forgot about that, So Morattin thinks that Mancini is better than
Capello? From what i read Capello was waiting for a response from inter first before going to Juve which means we could've got him if we wanted to but we passed on.

I agree, Zac should get respects from the Club and The fans..
He may go, but he is an inter fan...
I just hope he has an inter future (technical directors or anything to do with us).. If he resign for the shake of Inter.. then He deserves something from Inter as well..

perhaps, a farewell is well deserved for such a coach..
and changing him rightnow is better than being sacked.. in the middle of the season and being hated by many inter fans..

U have to respect his class...Maybe in the future we would see him in the club at some postion but he is a true Inter fan like he mentioned and maybe thats why he did this...I just hate that Inter hanfled the situation this way,we have to provide a good environment and this isnt the way to assure that.

Yeah, Zac might not have done the best as a coach, but as a true Inter fan who wanted to see the club succeed, he resigned, thus saving us millions and another heartache of a midseason coaching change. (clap clap) :)

Ah, then if he is a longtime Interfan, then maybe this job wasn't the best idea for him. Being too emotionally attached to his love for the club might have gotten in the way of his work, thus hurting the club overall. I certanly know that if I were to go into the football business, I would work in England where i hold no biases towards any club, because there is too much passion for me in Spain and Italy! :dielaugh:

I did hope zac will do well with us... I am pretty biased when judging him..
But I had several thoughts that he would move out...

I could not really accept the decision of replacing cuper with zac in the middle of the season when we replace him at the end of the season..
It's a waste of money and emotion for cuper , zac and inter...

but, this is my analysis of the 'political' situation..

Moratti wanted Mancini in the beginning of the season.. but Mancini said no because the fans were revolted against this move... Pushing Mancini to inter will give too much pressure the new coach... Moratti is dying to get rid of Cuper.... He didn't like cuper's game and he didn't think Inter should build the future with this coach... Mancini is ideal since he's young and he can be our alex or our wenger...

Once Cuper has few bad games, Moratti fond the chance to fire him... but he needed someone else to fill the position... Mancini is certainly unavailable at the moment.. and Zac is on vacation.... So we hire Zac... Of course, there's no certainty that we will replace him at the end of the season.. but we will most likely...

Zac wasn't too bad, but we would do much better with cuper at the helmet.. Only if Cuper got a good result (2nd place or another CL final), it's harder to change him.. and the team will have a hard time to adapt to attacking style the new coach will bring....

So Zac's job is mainly to keep inter afloat (being in the fourth place), and transforming inter to become more attacking team...
Zac has done his job and Lazio is getting worse... Mancini is now available and it's just right to get him before Real or some other big teams raid him..

ah now we have mancini, let's hope he can be our alex...

it's a wild ride ahead

Andy in Inter U-turn Thursday 17 June, 2004

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Andy Van der Meyde believes he now has a future with Inter after the resignation of Alberto Zaccheroni.

The Dutchman didn’t figure in Zac’s plans and there was talk that the midfielder would be returning to Ajax this summer.

But the Holland star is ready to remain at the San Siro with Roberto Mancini set to be handed the Nerazzurri job.

"My plans have now changed," said the Euro 2004 player. "I won’t be leaving anymore, that is for certain."

Van der Meyde was signed last summer and much was expected from him. Yet he struggled to make an impact once Hector Cuper was sacked in October.

"Mancini is the right man to help me launch my career again," added the 25-year-old. "He is a modern tactician who is more offensive.

"He is nothing like Zaccheroni. I didn’t really get on with him and he was always asking me to help out the defence.

"We simply didn’t understand each other. I have nothing against the man but I did suffer with him and lost my confidence.

"Now I’m hopeful that I can have a much better season as I’m convinced that we can achieve great things at Inter."

Van der Meyde, a winger, should fit in perfectly with Mancio’s offensive 4-4-2 tactics.
