Yeah, today I was checking that, and I really think that 7 spots for Argentina is waay too much, and more considering that now the teams that are playing the Libertadores can't play the Sudamericana... teams like Belgrano, Godoy Cruz and Atlético Rafaela will probably be playing it!! I think that they do that because Argentina and Brazil are the ones that won more international cups, but still is irrational...
IMO, we should copy EVERYTHING (and when i mean everything, is EVERY THING) from European Tournaments and how to qualify to them... It's fucking simple and perfect!:
The best 3 (or 4 or 2, depending on the strength of the league) of the Season would go to Libertadores
The following 3 (or 4, 3, 2) and the local Cup champions would go to Sudamericana (and not like Argentina, that the Copa Argentina's winner plays the Libertadores...)
The last 3 would be relegated (no "promedios" like Argentina )
Also, should participate EVERY South American country, like the Champions League, where even a team from Luxemburgo or San Marino has its chances to qualify. Of course, to do this, there should be more qualifying rounds...
And no stupid bullshit like "the team that got further in the Sudamericana will qualify to the Libertadores" (I think this is only appliable to argies teams). The funny thing is that this irrational thing was established when Arsenal was the one that went further in the Sudamericana... :rollani:
EDIT: Confirmed: it was established because of Grondona's team, notice that in 2011 the "2011 Copa Sudamericana best performing team not yet qualified" did not existed, Independiente qualified but they were the champions, not like Arsenal...
