People were unsure about Sensi before he came. When he started playing, everyone fell in love with him. Then his injuries happened and now he's rusty af and most of us said that if he doesn't improve his performance or keeps getting injured, there's no point in redeeming him.

All of our opinions follow a pretty normal line of thoughts. There's nothing to suggest we don't like Italian players. Barella has been well liked by the majority before & after he came here. It's fine for people to be critical of a shitty performance (like vs Napoli), but that doesn't mean we hate him and think he's shit.

I didn't actually imply that all Italian players are disliked, that was a question after I made this point on some players.

Barella is a core player, Bastoni is a kid who's getting into the first team and Sensi was a crucial part of our initial success. Sensi is the only outlier here actually.

With Gagliardini, Ranocchia, Biraghi, D'Ambrosio, Candreva it's mostly blind hate. They have a role to fulfill, they're not supposed to be the greatest in their position or even top 10. They're good enough and they are playing that way. Same applied with Politano as well.

People seem to be allergic to these guys and want them gone at every opportunity. And replace them with what? Ashley Young? Karamoh? Dalbert? Victor Moses? Agoume? Come on man, people are being irrational all the time here to express their dislike towards our rotation & backup Italian players. And it's not just because we need to have at least 8/25 Italians on our team, it's because they get super high on fringe players that don't do much more than the afformentioned.

Ashley Young has been doing okay but so was Biraghi until he ended up being the only choice. Both are limited players and as Cafe said, Young has the luxury of having an actual backup that Conte will trust. Dimarco hardly ever played despite Biraghi being our only other left sided player.

The biggest problem is that Asamoah has been sidelined for a contract dispute. We wouldn't be having a discussion here if it wasn't for that extension that his agent kept asking for. I wouldn't extend his contract myself, but at least play the guy and stop pretending that he's injured. He stopped being injured almost 1 month ago for fuck's sake! They're leaking out to the press that Asamoah's knee is bust so we will have to sell him. Now please tell me how is that an actual strategy when you have a player earning over 3m annually with a bust knee is available for sale with anyone willing to take him on

It's hilarious that under Marotta any player who has asked for a contract during winter has ended up with some sort of knee problem to sideline him :D

That is unequivocally what you implied you chalk-faced goon.

People are blinded by their despise towards Italian players because they perceive them as guys who are just riding along instead of worthy members of the squad.

This is what I initially said.

Why would that include Barella? Or Sensi in the start of the season?

Let's talk about Biraghi in this thread. You can take these fights to somewhere else.

I had a long post on the Biraghi situation but laptop failed so I`ll have to cut it short :D

Seems that Inter might reward Biraghi for his 'loyalty' not by paying the activation clause (€12m) but by discussing a loan swap with Dalbert. Marotta already confirmed more swap deals are incoming and both players have the same current value of €12m. This permanent switch idea was reported by FCInterNews.it.

CalcioMercato.com also confirmed Inter and Fiorentina have scheduled meeting for April to discuss the situation. IMO we should use Dalbert to lower the price of Chiesa/Castrovilli (if we want to buy any of them), as Inter payed €21m for Dalbert, while Fiorentina only payed €2m for Biraghi in 2018.

In any case, sounds like plusvalenza aka capital gains time. Biraghi has homegrown status but there is Davide Faraoni at Hellas for only €4m (if that`s the only reason).

I know he is club trained n all that shit, but can we please swap him back with Dalbert? Thats how average he has been. Though I would prefer to get rid of both, if possible.

GdS: Fiorentina have asked Inter about the possibility of extending the loans of Cristiano Biraghi and Dalbert

Inter chief executive Giuseppe ‘Beppe’ Marotta finds the prospect of a loan extension to be interesting given the lack of money expected to be spent in the upcoming summer transfer window and because keeping Biraghi would be helpful for the purpose of fulfilling the homegrown player quota required for UEFA competitions.

Biraghi can be the third option LB :D Young the second and get a new one, in case we sell Asa.

Someone would probably have to be left out of CL squad then. Hard to see us spending 3 spots for LWB position in our squad list, and as Biraghi's point is that he's club-trained so he's in the list, someone will be out.

Im cool with that. he is not bad player. Under performed last/this season, but he still didnt do Dalbert bad, and i know he can do better.

Doubt it will happen tho, if we do keep him, and give young a contract, we wont be getting another LWB. probably go for RWB.

Starting the season with Young and Biraghi as our LWB options would be so underwhelming. We need quality wingbacks on both sides.

If Young was our 2nd option, we would be in decent shape.

It's good that there's no football now to give context as to how bad of an idea this would be  And very possible.

Cristiano Biraghi’s adventure in Inter shirt is at the end credits. According to Calciomercato, Inter have determined not to redeem the Italian and so barring sensational surprises, the player who grew up in Inter’s youth academy will return to Fiorentina.

I would not pay for him, that`s for sure. At most swap with Dalbert/extend loan, however valuations were initially different... Big difference in what Inter payed for Dalbert vs what Fiorentina payed for Biraghi.

Don't have one.
Great news if true. One of the things that improved massively since marotta came here is the fact that we no longer tolerate players that are not good enough for longer periods of time. We have much more aggressive approach, which hopefully means no more jonathans, biraghis, santons etc. for multiple seasons when we all know and see there is no future for them here. Case in point lazaro this season... Hopefully it continues like that...
