If we were going to pursue a Sassuolo midfielder, I rate Lopez much higher than Fratessi.

If its betweem sms and frattesi, of course we should go for sms. The big problem will of course be the both owners, even tho it seems Marotta is on good terms with Sassuolo one, but it never really resulted in anything other than getting fucked with Sensi... also one of those guys coming probably means bye bye to Brozo... so i really dont know.. keep the midfield and just get some old timer for free instead of Gags or sell a starter.

Frattesi is a Barella-lite. As much as I like the player, there's no point in signing him to be a Gagliardini replacement. He's too good to sit on the bench (and is on a great trajectory), yet not good enough to displace Barella. He could potentially rotate with whoever the LCM is, but if there truly exists any opportunity to take SMS, we have to take it.

Kinda similar to Dybala eh.........

So we'll renew Lukaku's loan, thus killing any chance of signing SMS?

I don't love SMS. He's a moody player who tends to disappear. The talent is obvious, but I'm not convinced he'll cut it at a big club. Would rather take a punt on him than Fratessi, though.

Players usually step up their game when they come here if they notice we have a plan what to do. Plus supposedly SMS would like to reunite with Inzaghi (always a big factor in motivation). It's just that Inter's finances won't allow him.

Unless it’s Correa + 2-3 youth players + a little cash

I just don’t see how we get him here. For the price rumored we can get SMS who we can’t afford

Unless we are signing him as potential replacement for Barella who could be sold this summer…

Technically SMS is the superior player but I like Frattesi’s dynamism. Im honestly not sure SMS would be the better fit for our current squad. If we played with a DM I think it would be a no brainer, but we essentially play CMs converted to deep lying playmakers (Brozo & Hakan). We are also more of a counter attacking team now. I think that also fits Frattesi better.

I also think that Frattesi is more suitable for our style now, than SMS. We can filed him and Barella on the pitch together.

With SMS and Barella we can easy win. We just interested in Frattesi because we can offer plusvalenza to Sassuolo and make little payment. Marotta prefer Italian player too .

I think you have a point here.

I would love SMS but there's a point Frattesi could slot in better. Cost will be an issue since he's not gonna walk to our starting lineup like SMS would.

Using limited resources on rotation player is not maybe optimal, but maybe the analysis is the depth in our midfield is the most important thing we need. Having those guys top notch every game is so important? Still, I'm scared of Frattesi's valuation.

Why am I so scared of that? Why do I feel like we could save money for SMS if we keep Fabbian and Mulattieri and not go for Frattesi?

What is the other possible outcome - losing two promising players for Frattesi?

Unless we are selling Barella, I don't see the need to buy Frattesi.

I kinda get this view tbh.. frattesi id the sort of player I'm in favour of, and I have no specific opinion on him, but I really hope we've thought through and made big decisions about, in particular, fabbian.

I don't see it necessary to make much changes to the midfield. If Brozo or Hakan gets a good offer and leave then maybe. But if they stay we just need a player to replace Gags and someone like Pereyra can do that job. No need to sacrifice our youngsters yet again. We mostly need to focus on defence and forward line.

Frattesi can do what Mkhitaryan does for us.

I'm a fan of this move but not at the expense of improving our core and depth by blowing a chance to finally land SMS.

Well, it's about opportunity. We could either have Brozo stay for another 5 years, but if we can really sell him and get SMS for about the same amount, it's a no-brainer.

Clearly we don't have a lot of money, so we need to be at our smartest. If only we were also interested in Kamada, we would have such a solid 6 players for our midfield that we wouldn't worry anymore about who out of them is starting in "smaller" games.

Sure, but there is also an upside of SMS being able to play in multiple positions and being one of the rare players in our squad that isn't a defender and is big

It looks like we can get Frattesi and still keep Brozovic while for SMS we need to sacrifice Brozovic (unless we get a lot cash from the likes of Dumfries, Onana)
