I think inzaghi needs to be a little bit more flexible and accommodate his playing style, cos there is a quality player here, plus he is clutch as hell. But with this current tactics, I can totally see why he isn't picked. Our mids need to be good at quick short passes, and all three of our starting mids are better at that than him.

Pains me to say it, but if he had chosen milan or juve he would have probably currently be one of the best mids in the league.

Hopefully things can change and inzaghi starts including him regularly in the first team.

Inzaghi needs to find a way to give him more minutes. He's only played 55 minutes combined in the last 7 league matches. Hard to make an impression that way. In 5 of those matches, he played 13 minutes or less and sat on the bench fully in the other one.

He's still contributed this season imo. Obviously he's not a natural fit in the way we play with our current midfielders, but I still think he deserves more starts especially as our midfielders can get burnt out.

Just look at the number of starts in Serie A.
Calhanoglu - started 19/19 matches
Mkhi - started 18/19 matches
Barella - started 18/19 matches

Very little rotation.

You are deluded because it looks like Asllani gets more minutes, while he has 411 min, and Frattesi has over 800 min.
Asllani and Frattesi cannot show something special for like 10-15 every other game.

Frattesi has nothing to do with Asllani though. Asllani is the backup to Calhanoglu while Frattesi to Barella/Mkhi. Asllani has never come on over Frattesi in place of Barella or Mkhi.

Also Asllani hasn't been here for 3 years, last season was his first season here. Not to mention Frattesi has double the minutes of Asllani.

Frattesi 338 minutes.

But as I say, I don't mind Frattessi and Miki splitting the games.

didn't realize Barella had only 2 goals. Inzaghis midfielders always scored a bunch of goals, that why this low number from the starters is surprising a little. Calhanoglu also has just 1 goal from open play.

Even Lautaro did not react like Frattesi, but he was too tired carrying our attack so I let it slides. Meanwhile, Frattesi prowled around the box with predatory instinct for a goal and he deservedly pounced the rebound. Good job.

Agree completely, and then we wonder why we have bad spells and players looking tired. He needs to have more balls and include fratessi more often, even if it means we can't play as fluid as we could with our starting three mids.

Instead, he will probably just continue his perfect little setup until everyone falls dead, and we have another genoa away performance.

It's a bit misleading to analyze the still image to be fair, Alexis was coming from a wide position and actually tried to beat the offside line, although yeah he was still offside, Arnautovic actually did well to get back onside while Lautaro was calling for the ball at his feet.
I'd say all three of the forwards did what they're supposed to, while Frattesi being a midfielder did even better but still what he's best known for. Great timing and placement.

He deserves to play more and with the rest of the core of the team. Not 10 minutes with Klaasen, Asllani and Sanchez every full moon.
