Fun fact I saw online: This guy was the captain of the Ajax team that lost to us in that Youth version of the CL final we won under Stramaccioni 11 years ago. He scored one of the penalties against Di Gennaro.

I couldn't believe it when I opened my Instagram and saw the post. I thought it had to be fake, this feels so weird.

Shoutout to Ajax for terminating his contract.

Is he that bad though?
He has had quite decent career so far (bar his tenure at Everton), signed for free and I know that Eredivisie is not the best league in Europe, but he captained at Ajax and scored regularly.
Def no world beater, but I think he will become a servicable player for us in certain scenarios.

Really don’t get why so many people got pissed by this transfer. Calhanoglu is now clearly in the role of Brozovic, which means we only had 3 mezzalas yet we clearly need 4 to have 2 backups (Barella tends to have dips in form when he is overplayed, Miki is too old, and Sensi is already having minor muscle problems so I’m not even going to count him, even though I actually like the guy, but also trying to be realistic) so we needed an extra backup mezzala for the midfield three.

Now we got one, for free, not at all injury prone and with great experience, phisicality and a fighter character. Plus, he’s actually good at creating chances, and I can see how he can link-up with Thuram, since they are both good at short passes in tiny spaces.

I can see how he will be useful for us throughout the season, he definitely adds extra depth that we missed last year to be able to evenly compete both in Serie A and UCL

Do you know his age? He's 45 and balding.
And if he was any good, Ajax, aka the 2nd best managed club in the world after Bayern, wouldn't have released him.

We have 8 mid now including him. If Sensi is not reliable enough, we still have Asllani (who can play as mezzala, and for me he shall be rotated on that position, not as registra) and Agoume. So, it's better to give those minutes to someone of them instead of declining, old and never been top class player.

Don't have one.
The shirt that duncan is wearing is hands down the most beautiful inter shirt of all time, imo. Too bad it was squandered on banter era players. It deserves all the trophy patches...

Klaassen was chosen as the last scrap. Not even planned, not even worth a penny.

We all know Inter wanted Samardzic for his role but they had to deal with his dad. Not wanting to experience the same situation with Samardzic they've instead signed some 'granddad-looking' dude for free.
