Since watching the Netherlands match versus USA in the World Cup, I always thought Dumfries works better with those cutbacks rather than 'forward' crosses. The weight on the ball on his forward crosses is not always on point, but he's good on these cutbacks. Cutbacks in general are very difficult for teams to defend as a lot of midfielders fail to track runners on top of the penalty box. Both of his assists for Thuram's goal have been similar.

Hope to see more of this. He finished last season in Serie A with 1 goal 4 assists. He already has 2 goals and 3 assist so has equalled his goal contribution.

This version of Dumfries is one of the best RB/RWB in the world, imo.

I like him better now because he is better. And jf he'll look like he doesn't care or keep fucking up simple things, I'll be a hater again.

I have not seen him taking a shit, effort is unquestionable, but of course players like Hakimi are still more talented and technical. Him and Lautaro are some of the guys who represent this Warrior Inter we want to see.

I really think he can reach Cafu's or Maicon's level in the long run, he has the physic and speed, along with the good basic technique also he does not do those one dimensional plays, he tries to play accordingly to the situation and teammates, one example I can think of is even for the first match he played for Inter, when he received the ball up front he tried to protect it for possession, instead of rushing for the break through which is more often what he did for the national team. This also explains why he appears to be slow on acting, cause he is trying to read his teammates movements, and he is not familiar with them at this point. His current weakness though I would say is his def skills set you can see he gets beaten a lot and seem quite clueless on how to limit the man he is marking, but at least he has the work ethic for it, which he keeps tracking back and trying.
See what did I say about this guy; I TOLD YOU GUYS!!!!

The most interesting thing about him to me is that he can play poorly for the whole game, but he will still assist for a goal in the same game.

Is that interesting tho? That can happen to literally any player. He might have better perseverance and focus this season than some others, but even his teammate Barella - who is having an unfocused season - will get assists while having shit games, I'm sure.

He seemingly takes a page or two from Perisic and cuntdrado playbook. It is a nice surprise to see Dumfries can take on his defender and set himself to launch a comfortable cross. That or perhaps Zalewski completely sucks.

Pretty much all of his crosses were dangerous today. I believe two of them resulted in chances from Thuram (that Patricio saved) and Pavard's miss. He also had a good cross that Llorente blocked.

Dumfries is with Lautaro and Thuram the main reason why our season has been great so far. He is our most improved player in the last 5-6 months imo, you'd struggle to find a bad performance from him in this period and even if you find it, he will still have put a real warrior performance on.

I'm gonna push you on this because I think De Vrij's resurgence helped us a lot. How many goals have we conceded with De Vrij on the pitch? He isn't at his best, but he is clearly a lot better than last 2 seasons and I would call that a decisive improvement for us.
