United are 5-1-1 against the teams ahead of them this year. Just been way too poor against those beneath them.

Tbf to us, we had Pogba missing whole season, then Martial also missed around 2 months which means Rashford was our only good attacker and he played as CF(Where he was very bad) instead of LW.

When Martial came back we went on a decent run and then Rashford was injured along with McTominay.

Once we signed Bruno, we have improved a lot.

Rashford, Martial, Shaw, Pogba, McTominay all are our key players and everyone missed at least 2 months and on few occasions it was multiple players missing at once.

Apart from all these, we are changing the squad by promoting few youngsters to first team, haven't replaced Lukaku but promoted Greenwood to squad position and he has scored 12 goals this season.

Not the way we wanted (results wise) but there is some good work being done.

Martial, Rashford are undisputed first choice players, before they were squad players.
McTominay and Fred plays whenever they are fit, previously both were back up players.
Greenwood is proper first team player now, earlier he was playing for U18s.
Replaced players like Lingard with James for first team.
Wan Bissaka has been a beast of a player.
Finally Maguire brought some calmness to the first team.

There is some good work being done when it comes to squad management, whether Solskjaer can take us to next level is yet to be seen.

I mentioned this before but i really like Ole man, such a positive person will be refreshing to see him succeed at UTD hopefully.

Tbf coaches get lots of pressure and it seems to happen to lots of them. Pippo Inzaghi looked like he aged 50 years over one season at Milan. His brother looks much better though and is holding it well.

A remarkable feat, really, given how much shit he always is complaining about.

Scholes: 'Only Inter showed interest'

“I was never ever made aware of any team coming in for me,” he told BBC Radio 5 Live.

“I did have one phone call off an agent, Bryan Robson’s old agent, he rang me while we were away at Euro 2000 to ask me if I would be interested in going to Inter Milan but that’s the only phone call I ever had.

---

I remember this rumor. Such a sublime footballer. Even as a kid though I knew it was not going to happen.

No idea what he is talking about ManUtd being on par with other top clubs, but he on his own definitely was a pure world class.

Moratti had a hard on for those Man Utd 92' players and generally was into some of their players.

He always wanted to bring Ryan Giggs over, Scholes and Beckham were other names he was interested in, he bought Paul Ince, wanted to bring Jaap Stam before he moved to Lazio (he was apparently also juiced up and missed 2 months) but the price was too high for us and we already had brought Materazzi and Cordoba was still around. Which is also ironic since we wanted to bring Nesta or Cannavaro the following summer and they got Laurent Blanc from us to replace Stam.
Stam + Cordoba would have been a really nice combination in 2001-02 and Cannavaro/Nesta careers could have been different, maybe Milan buys Cannavaro and doesn't threaten Lazio for Nesta and he remains there for his entire career as his intentions were.

Moratti also wanted to buy Andy Cole, the guy had a habit of buying strikers that time (just check the forwards we bought from 1998 to 2001). A couple of years after that, probably 2002 or 2003, he wanted to bring Solksjaer over.

As for Scholes saying he was at the best team and didn't need to think of going to another team, he's kinda right. You don't have to be at the absolute best. He felt he was at the best possible situation for him and obviously he'll say that he played for the best team. He was in the top team of England, won the championship almost every year and was doing well in Europe. Maybe they were deluded into thinking that they were the best team, but it's hilarious how they feel they deserved the 1999 Champions League after robbing us in the quarter finals and how mighty Eupalla just ensured that Bayern wouldn't clinch a game they should have won 3-0. But these guys had no reason to leave Manchester United. Foreign country, new league, new environment, risk of not making it, risk of not liking it... Why bother when you're in a great place already? Beckham's way doesn't have to be the right way. I much rather the Scholes way. It's not like he was Totti, playing in a team doomed for European mediocrity and partial domestic success and it was seen as unbelievable to reject Real Madrid, Inter, Milan and Barcelona.

Definitely, I guess we are all aware of Moratti's inclination to overestimate in-form strikers... iirc he wanted to buy Dario Hubner, Marco Ferante, I might be wrong about some of the names though, but yeah that's one of the things I remember him for

Don't have one.
What in a fuck are these fake crowd noises in aston villa sheffield match. Instead of letting fans experience something new, hear players and coaches talking, cus god knows when they will have another chance to actually experience something like that, they are ruining it with artificial sounds.

I'm picturing some poor fuck turning nobs whenever there's a chance for a goal and what an idiotic picture that is.

Tech fail in the game, ball clearly crossed the line but goal wasn't given.

They should award the goal after seeing that it clearly went over the line and the goal line technology failed. That's a big blow to Sheffield United's Champions League qualification as they should be 5th place and 2 points behind Chelsea in 4th. Villa will no doubt be happy as it could end up saving them from relegation.

wow I didn't see it, but that's incredible, regardless of pandemic. For motivational and ambient purposes they're playing recorded sounds of audience? Creepy and funny. I know simlar things have been used in radio and for propaganda purposes, but this feels different.

Fandom has already been purified, disciplined, staged and choreographed enough, no spontaneity. I guess this was to be expected.

It's one of the reasons I never like hearing YNWA anymore. It's kind of empty feeling at this point. Like a tourist attraction, a performance by people at the stadium for players and those watching.

Roy Keane laying into De Gea at half time after yet another blunder saying they should be swinging punches at him lol. Such an overrated keeper.

Also extremely boring game so far between Man Utd and Spurs. I find it funny with the crowd noises though. There must actually be a guy sitting in a room playing different sounds when something happens. When there's a foul they play the crowd booing/protesting it and when a corner is won they play the crowd clapping, etc

Lol ref gives another penalty to Man Utd in the 89th minute. Clearly not a penalty so it should be overturned.
