Exactly this. Nothing in his current performances in the matches proves he should get more playing time. And we need to remember match minutes in a week is only small percentage of the stuff the players do weekly. Inzaghi and his staff see the players every day in trainings.I's funny because Gosens has never had a better performance than Dimarco's against Plzen since coming to Inter, and seeing his form before that at Atalanta I'd even argue that it's been 18 months since he last showed anything special.
To be fair he hasn't started that many games for us but when he was given a chance most of the time he was never incredibly good/effective/decisive. I'm all for giving players the chances they deserve to show their worth, it's the same for Bellanova and Asllani, but imo, it's very clear that despite all his flaws Dimarco doesn't make it any easy for Inzaghi to drop him. In terms of mentality, offensive threat, dynamism he's delivering even more than was expected.
First of all Plzan was a shit opppnent. Secondly, Dimarco wasn't tormenting anyone. His best move the whole match was his assist to Dzeko and even that wasn't anything impressive. I like the guy, but he's not good enough to be our starting LWB.Yes, tormenting. Our left flank had a field day yesterday and Dimarco was pouring dangerous crosses all the time.
What's wrong with that narrative?I wasn't comparing the players. Only the arguments. Exact same narrative. Gagliardini was a better fit for Conte's system and Eriksen hadn't shown anything in the garbage minutes he was getting to deserve a start.
Not sure which match you saw but Di Marco destroyed that left flank in the match , constantly pushing forward and creating dangerous attacks.First of all Plzan was a shit opppnent. Secondly, Dimarco wasn't tormenting anyone. His best move the whole match was his assist to Dzeko and even that wasn't anything impressive. I like the guy, but he's not good enough to be our starting LWB.
