That is squarely on him. Get up. Period.
Agreed, I thought he was man of the match until that point.Apart from that sleeping on the field letting his mates do the job while Lazio scored I actually thought he was good. Sometimes it feels too obvious that we try to put the ball to him so he can cross. But I guess that is what happens when the next guy is Gagliardini.
You are being too harsh on him. The missed penalty is unlucky and today it was idiotic for him to stay on the floor for that long but still. On the other hand he was everywhere today fighting, and was being reliable both in offense and defense. He does a lot of things good but man his mistakes so far this year have directly costed us probably 5 points. That’s massive.
I was wondering about the Bastoni thing too. Maybe it was an Inzaghi coaching thing:.give Bastoni some bench time because he has been underwhelming a lesson. Additionally start Dimarco, despite his bone headed play last outing, a confidence boost "that your still an important part of this team".Would have costed us some points (again!) but I really like his performance. Dimarco offers a lot of possibility for us on the left flank. Like Ethor said his corners were better too.
But not sure what to make of Inzaghi starting him as a LCB. I'd definitely prefer having Bastoni there. Keeping him as AN OPTION in the 70th minute would be great. But I'd rather have him deputise for Perisic than to constantly start as a LCB.
Laying down while Lazio went up the other side of the pitch and scored. What was the bone headed play?
Not really. You can't compare the two situations. When Lautaro received the ball he wasn't aware that dimarco was still on the ground, even IF he noticed that Dimarco fell. In these situations nobody turn back and watch who is down 20 meters behind him. But when Lazio players saw he's still on the ground they had all the time in the world to decide. I think the ref had to intervene there, but you can't really compare Lautaro's reaction to what Lazio players could do.I disagree. We lost any moral high ground on this situation the moment Lautaro continued to play. You can't expect from the opponents to throw the ball out when your own player has tried to use the advantage and score a goal. It's totally hypocritical. I put all the blame on the ref. He should have definitely intervened as the player had stayed down for way too long.
Total different situations. Dimarco’s pass straight to Lautaro, who is in an attacking situation already, as he received the ball he dribbled a little and shot the ball. Dimarco went went to the ground right when he passed to Lautaro, no sane player would kick the ball out in as little time and situation like that, not to mention he might not know what happened to Dimarcos as he’s behind him, not to mention its actually an advantage.I disagree.
