The commentator against Salzburg kept saying that he regards Dimarco as the best left-back in the world.

If we’re forced to sell, I’d like to see Dimarco sold over say Bastoni and Barella.

In the current form I sell Barella over the other two.
This is why I always say we need to consider the right offers for our best players because maybe very soon their preferences will change. altough I blv he is gonna be alright soon.

I would like to see Barella on the left side again, soon.

You all know that the players that we'll first try to sell are Hakan, Thuram and Dumfries
I can see it being Hakan if that Saudi offer that Marotta referenced comes back next season. He's the oldest of the bunch and has a very high salary already.

Looks like Dimarco two seasons ago. Not good.

I gotta admit that this season he's been less consistent compared to last season, but he's still an immense player. Let's not ignore the fact that even Bastoni hasn't been that sharp either. Also both Mkhi and Barella haven't been on their level recently, especially the latter one who is been a huge disappointment so far.

Needs to be benched imo. I'm not saying this because of the goal, which I thought was a foul but his performances overall. Barella and Bastoni have gotten most of the criticism recently but for me Dimarco is the player that worries me the most, especially in the biggest games.

I don't want to criticize him too much as he's improved a lot as a player, but he's a very poor defender and also really lacks physicality to make up for his defending. He also has a tendency to spam crosses even when there are no players in a good position to attack them.

I'm not saying Augusto is a better player yet, but I feel that he (Augusto) usually takes a look to see if he can make a cross or if there's a better solution. At times, I feel Dimarco is too 'comfortable' in his game and doesn't always make a decision based on the situation on hand but rather playing from 'memory' if that makes sense. Also, his crosses recently have generally been poor.

Anyway, I don't want to criticize too much and he's obviously still going to be an important player for us, but I feel that if there is one 'starter' that should be rotated more often than others, it's him. Barella has also been poor but I feel that he adds things to our game (even when in poor form) that Frattesi at this point does not.

I'm not sure benching Dimarco (in a long shot) would have been a good idea . Carlos Augusto is a very good player but not on Dimarco's level yet. If you compare them, they are different players but Dimarco's influence in our game is crazy, and his technical ability gives him an edge over Augusto because we are known as a competitive team that plays creative football and doesn't rely on physical game.

Like I said, this season he's been kind of shaky compared to last one, but I'd put some blame in our midfield for that (excluding Hakan). There's plenty of times that I have seen both Dimarco and Dumfries being isolated because they didn't get support from either Mkhi or Barella. They were kind of forced to make a panic pass forward to Lautaro or Thuram whom are mostly marked by opponent defenders, so my point is that lack of support from both Mkhi and Barella has been obvious which made even our attackers to struggle like hell.

Dimarco being poor defender is no surprising anymore. It's a well known fact, but he's got amazing stamina and tenacity to make it up. He's also improving tactically. He was far more vulnerable in the earlier days. It's a fact that he's gotten better by the time, but like I said in my other post, this season he's been kind of shaky in term of consistency which it's not entirely his fault because our setup of 352 is very complex and wingbacks are almost crucial positions in this scheme.

Then again, I'm totally okay with giving Carlos Augusto some chances as starter because he's shown that he's a quality player, but at the same time I'm pretty sure that we will be missing Dimarco's creativity from that left flank.

On a game to game basis Dimarco has bigger highs than CA, but CA is more consistent with the run of good performances.

Dimarco was poor previous game as well, but he delivered a crucial assist. Maybe this is the reason Inzaghi starting him every match.

Dimarco was obviously fouled, you cannot grab the arm and yank players like Lookman did. However, Dimarco also had to realize he was at the last line of defence and he should not make a risky move. He should clear the ball ASAP instead of trying to shield the ball with his lesser athleticism.
