A team as INTER should not be affraid of fiorentina ! This year we challenge the UCL and we'll have no trouble passing by fiorentina ! :interscarf:

fiorentina 0 - 2 INTER

I agree, today INTER is strong as never before, but those 6 goals from Roma & TIM trophy teams......:wallbang: :wallbang:
i'm afraid that Inter can concede unessasary and stupid goals
but hope for win....
i say 3-1, Inter takes it!!!!!!

Will be a hard game because team of Fiorentina isn't easy of be beat. About Adriano, I think that will be your last chance.. if he will back play football or no.. Because continue way that is it, don't have way more.

I believe this will be a difficult test for us. It will definitely be a crunch match. If we win this one, then we may be able to win something big. If not, then we would have to work hard.

Fiorentina are not easy opponents, so we would have to show our quality. But I believe we can win. A hard-fought 2-1 victory will be what I'm expecting.

By the way, any streams for this one? I'm using SopCast.

The mentality approach is already going towards the wrong direction guys, how can we underestimate our opponent, especially it's Viola?

I'm not saying we should be scared of Viola, but if we enter the field thinking just like what some of the members are saying, then we are destined get a disappointing result from this game.

Sasuke I'm fully agree with you.
Up to ten days ago I couldn't wait to see the season started but now I confess that I'm somehow affraid and worried.
I believe our matches against Fiorentina, Roma, Milan and Torino will be our toughest matches this year.
I hope to see the players fight for a super moral boosting win this saturday.

I think it's good to start against a strong club like fiorentina it really will motivate the players to win!

Maybe i'am a little bit pessimistic but i expect nothing more than a draw here, actually this is the worst scenario we can find, a team who need points like no one else and it's one of the best 5 teams of Italy along with Inter, Roma, Milan and maybe Palermo, usually Fiorentina is not a team very difficult for Inter to beat, but remember the last time we meet them we lose 2-1 in Viola home.
The LineUp i would like to see, is the TYPICAL lineup that we know Mancini will play (good to have a typical lineup and not play every day differente players, of course is good to rotate but a team should know who is the sub and who the starter, like Bergomi said Mancini should pick 14 or 15 players)
My only hope is have Toldo as a starter and not give Julio Cesar a birthday present like play this game.

Toldone, Zanetti, Cordoba, Samuel, Grosso, Cambiasso, Vieira, Stankovic, Figo, Ibrahimovic & Adriano
second half: Maicon or Crespo/Cruz

Very tough match to start off with. We don't have a great record playing in Florence. I would be happy enough to walk away with a draw. Obviously we can win, but playing in a hostile environment against a quality opponent is a tough proposition at the best of times, let alone the first game of a new season.

Not a good match to start of the season but good test as as the Champions league is comeing up behind,
Viola at home always strong and Toni and Mutu will be dangerous as ever!
I actully think Maicon will start over Grosso and im hoping Ibra-Crespo starts of.
Last year as i can rember Brochi i think was his name scored the winning goal, he moved to Ac Milan am i right?

It would be better to put Materazzi into the line-up instead of Samuel cos he's in pretty bad form lately (I also read that he put a shitty preformance against Brazil yesterday) and Matrix is best suited defender for playing against Toni..

@Marcello
You think well, he scored that goal that made Julio Cesar "famous".. Brocchi took a shot from cca 30 m, the ball hit the ground in front of Julio and jumped over him...:wallbang:
And he's now back in Milan, he played against us in Trofeo Tim..

It will be a very difficult match for us especially that the Viola knows they have to start off well in order to reduce the uphill 19 points deficit they have. I expect a fast and furious approach from them like they did last year. They got off to a flying start, scored a goal inside the first 10 minutes and made life difficult to us since we were chasing the game afterwards.

Mancio has to PUT the RIGHT formation for this game. It will be a vital game for both sides. For us to believe that we are capable of winning something this season and for the Viola to gain confidence.

Of course a win for us will be a great result, however, it seems that the importance of the match will get the better of everyone and it will most probably end in a draw.

My prediction 1-1 (Mutu, Crespo)

Here are the words of Suarez:

http://www.goal.com/it/articolo.aspx?contenutoId=120548

And he's absolutely right.. We have, once again, changed too much in the squad, and when will these great individuals truely become a great team depends a lot of our coach..

So do not expect great results (or play) right from the start.. The only path to the final victory is the one covered with toil, tears, and sweat..

That's right.

We need to be patient with the team and that they will cope with all the pressure coming from everywhere.

Our rivals are aslo waiting for our first slip to start criticizing the team.

I'm not expecting a "flying" start from our team, but I hope we start off well.

Its a tricky opener for sure.

There will be so much pressure on us this season as everyone thinks we are clear favourites for the title given the penalties imposed on the other top sides.

I think a draw would be a good result for us

I think we should frustrate Fiorentina in the opening exchanges (15-20 minutes) and then start with our game plan. As I said earlier, Fiorentina will give their all to win this game because it will give them a boost to reduce the huge deficit they have.

If we score first; this will put them down really hard and then we can exploit our psychological advantage. In my opinion, scoring the first goal will be the key for a comfortable victory.
