I think we have been at this stage for a while now. Kondogbia's transfer was a good example. It was a desperate risk because we couldn't get anyone who had proved to be a good player already. It was one of the biggest failures. Inter sold Kovacic and even paid more money to get Kondo who is lacking the basic football skills.

Worst thing of all, we paid him like a player who had already proven a lot.

Unfortunate for him, but we haven't even faced that many good sides and we've lost. Roma loss is ok away from home. But we haven't met Napoli, Fiore, Milan, Lazio...I mean the teams he was losing too, and the manner, just wasn't right.

I do think that FDB has the potential to be a good manager. It just wasnt the right time for this project. Especially because Suning didnt want him in the first place.

I'm actually sad he's gone. It's a shame he couldn't get the results cos we were actually playing well. We are onto our 3rd manager of 2016.

Your username perfectly summarises how we deal with managers.

Can someone please provide a translation to this
"It's a shame it's finished like this. To take this project forward it needs more time. I want to thank all the fans for the support that they have given me in these months."

Hope this helps

Truth is, we don't have the right elements for the 4-3-3 FdB was trying to implement, and with the difficulties he faced in terms of communicating with the team (language) and not knowing the league well, topped by the club hierarchy's divided opinions and the squad's off-pitch problems, this was never going to work out.

Back to square one..

He should have followed his brother advice to take it slowly and don't do too drastic changing with our Play style (if any). Obviously he don't have suitable player for his style. Feel so bad for him, Prandelli would make more sense back then.. :eek:kay:

Wow the management really went though with it :palm: I wonder if I'll be still alive when they realize we are stuck in a vicious cycle.

Fucking Christ. Win big on the horse race today, go out and have a nice night celebrating a friends birthday and come home to this shit. Fucking goons the lot of them.

I was of the opinion that we should stick with de Boer until the mid-season break at the very, very least. If it were up to me, I'd ban the use of the word "scudetto" and I'd have stuck with him the whole season, barring any real risk of being relegated.

Someone like Stramaccioni started with a philosophy but then let the (needless) pressure get to his head and ended up playing an ultra-defensive system which he wasn't even familiar with. If de Boer, or any other coach for that matter is compromised, and is playing a broken version of their philosophy, then the argument to fire them makes more sense. But for the first time in years we're seeing a coach with a system worth supporting. A system which when operating efficiently (like against Juve), worked very, very well. I'm very annoyed that we didn't give more time for de Boer to work, and I'm very annoyed at the incessant and needless pressure we keep putting on managers while their systems are still being developed. It's like hiring a builder to build a house, then sacking him halfway through because the current house is unlivable. Then we go demolish the half-built house and hire some other prick to rebuild a completely new house from scratch. No wonder this fucking club and everyone in it is a fucking retard.

Tbh, i feel sad for Frank, he didn't have much time, but the other side of the coin is that he was a stubborn dick too, i would have fired him just for the fact that he didn't play Gabigol.
I don't care that he protected him, or he wasn't ready, he should have played, and Icardi should have been given some bench time.

Frankie didn't understand that these fucks are not his teenage boys from Ajax, i guess he lost the dressing room pretty quickly.

Life goes on.

I feel De Boer was a little bit naive. If he was insistent on bringing a complete culture change the team he managed, as he attempted in this case, it was foolish to accept an appointment two weeks before the start of the season. Without a proper pre-season, the team was never going to be able to gel and operate to his style without a barren bedding-in period. Given the timing, results couldn't have been expected until the turn of the year.

It's hard to say who is at fault. Suning, for implementing a managerial change so close to the start of the year? De Boer, for being naive enough to think he could simply implement his full change of footballing culture overnight, rather than trying to use the framework that was already in place and changing style incrementally?

This whole sorry episode should have been easily avoided. From Day 1, it was clear this change was not going to work. I feel sorry not just for De Boer, but for the players....but at the same time, might De Boer resent the players for not adapting to his changes, or vice versa? It's a very messy, complicated end to a doomed spell.

It's a shame the change wasn't properly implemented, because with the right approach, it could have been a fantastic development. You could see he was trying to bring attacking football to the team. I love to watch Sassuolo thanks to Di Francesco's approach, and De Boer seemed to be going along a similar tack. Look at the initial problems EdF had adapting his team's style for Serie A - it took time, it took embarrassing 7-0 losses, Squinzi even gave up at one point, but changed his mind. But they've finally got there, the culture is set in stone, and they are a solid Top 10 club in Italy now. It took years for their story to come together - if Suning can't even wait 3 months, De Boer had no hope to start with.

At least both sides will have learned something from this experience. Suning will now know not to make managerial changes so close to the start of the season, while De Boer will know not to try and implement his footballing ethos on his next club in such a hurry, at least without a full pre-season with his new club, whomever they may be.
