Actively? Nothing. Don't care who plays where, football is about the teams and their fans. And they have none of it and will never do.

Anything else is just consumerism. And I have other things to consume, football isn't one of them.
I wish this was true. Fuck, I'm gonna sound like a fucking boomer but this generally only applies to older generations, these new generations change teams like never before.

Which is why they're irrelevant and relying on them is like having a foundation of quicksand.

You're talking about people who follow players instead of teams, as if this is the (new) NBA and they decide who's the best player to follow based on FIFA ratings...

That's your PL money, MLS spending and Arab leagues growing. You think it's sustainable?

Luckily, football is a sport where it's extremely hard to compete at the highest level with just few stars running the show.

Messi is perhaps the only true super star who had carried his team but even he has had so many great players to play with.

NBA style star dick sucking simply doesn't work the same way even if it's forced heavily with the social media.

Genuine question for you all: what would it take for you to actively seek out and watch a Saudi league game? How many more big name transfers?

Nothing. I only watch CL, EPL, La Liga when it's absolutely convenient and I have absolutely nothing else to do. In short, I don't spend any effort on watching any football that Inter are not a part of.

I think a more interesting question would be asking Saudi FIFers if new signings have changed their perception towards their local league and if they're more willing to follow it closely now compared to before.

@Javier'sSon @Batman thoughts?

I don't think I'm the best to answer as I have never been interested in the local league, mainly for the huge, and apparent, difference in quality with European football, that and I was never that patriotic towards the country but I am liking the recent changes of course, both societal and sporting-wise. We are spending obsene amounts of money but the west will always complain and I couldn't care less what they think (might have gone off topic here).

I did get a bit excited when CR7 was announced but I didn't watch a single game, maybe if an ex-Inter player was signed I would tune in (like Brozo) but I still highly doubt it. Again, I'm not really someone to base this on as I have always had this elitist attitude towards my fellow countrymen. However, I would say that for the average Saudi it is absolutely a great time to watch the league as football is already huge here and the fact that the stars brought are seemingly spread between multiple clubs and not the two with the biggest following (Hilal and Nasser) is a big plus.

There is a big chance I will stop watching sports sooner than I thought.

None, they'll have to make to a CL semi final, then I'll root against them probably if I'll watch at all.

Modrić and Lovren. Something is finally happening here with players cause they are also guilty and they should be punished too but too many have short memories and forgot everything cause of success in Russia on a World Cup. Interesting to see how this will end.
