BLiga chances?

I want to believe it but sadly i can't see it happen. Bayern will drop points for sure but i can't see any team consistent enough to challenge them. Freiburg? I love their project but no. Eintracht? They lack squad depth for 2 competitions and they aren't consistent enough. Leipzig? Perhaps. They look better with Rose but defence is an issue. Match against Bayern at restart will be massive.

I am sorry to say it but i can't see your Dortmund in the mix. Defence is just too bad and in attack they're more inconsistent than Lautaro's finishing. They can beat anyone (bar Bayern) as easily as lose to anyone.

If only Leipzig started this season with Rose and didn't have to deal with an injury crisis (Nkunku, Werner, Poulsen, Laimer, Olmo, Klostermann, Gulacsi, Simakan), they would've won the title. They still could imho. Nagelsmann is the most overrated manager of all time. His 'tactical genius' is based on players sticking to their positions and fouling like maniacs when they lose possession. If BuLi refs weren't letting Bayern get away with that type of shit their gameplan would go out the window.

Defence is a work in progress Dortmund (schlotterbeck has been a revelation for me) just need to drop hummels in order to execute the high-line effectively.

As for the attack Haller and Reus will be back by Feb. Provided Dortmund can maintain its core (no injuries + no major sales i.e. Bellingham) and possible return of Sancho, I expect a strong finish to the season.

I want to believe we could have a title challenge but i just can't trust Union and Freiburg. If Leipzig get consistent then we could talk but it's a big IF. In any case, it's always pleasant to watch Bayern struggling.

Drama at FC Hollywood. Bayern fired their GK coach because Nagelsmann wanted to bring his guy from Hoffenheim. Neuer publicly criticized the club for the decision. Now there are rumours Neuer could get stripped off the captain's armband.

Dortmund have certainly been the pleasant surprise of BLiga post World Cup. Adeyemi has finally started to perform, return of Haller has given another dimension to the attack and Ryerson has proven to be shrewd business. I still don't trust the defence but Dortmund have become a fun team to watch again, in a good way. Hopefully they can put pressure on Bayern.

Huge win for Union Berlin at Leipzig last night which keeps them one point behind Bayern. They're in insane form in 2023. 6 wins in 6 matches. Let's hope they can keep it up.

Dortmund are 7 for 7 so far in 2023. It hasn't been pretty but the mindset and togetherness is palpable. Namely in how we grindout wins and play defense. We've found consistency and every win that follows makes us stronger

Bellingham deserves a special mention. Although at times petulant and quarrelsome, he has a calming and supportive playstyle, always available for a pass and to cover when possession is lost. Always, always. He has taken on the mantle of captain like a duck to water, whenever he's on the ball the team orbits around him and forages forward enmasse. Barella should take note.
