yeah, but its not him coming out of the hole and talking some shit, its always the media asking him something about inter, so he just answers the questions asked by them

i'll never understand the bias against him. yes, he fucked up against novara and trabzonspor, but there were so many things going wrong in this club at the time, that it was not only his fault. he never insulted the club, just said that he should have been given more time and more opportunities.

he had ideas that would have actually made us a nice team at that time. i remember an interview where he counted the things he wanted at inter:
- prefering to get two-three players instead of nine or ten
- he wanted palacio, who was fantastic at that time; we didnt buy him, but then bought him after gasp was gone
- he wanted nainggolan and vidal, but we were not interested in them
- he preferred to play coutinho and castaignos, but he was forced to play forlan and zarate

all in all he was not successful at all at inter, but he behaved mostly like a gentleman regarding how we fucked him over, and didnt even want compensation after getting fired. adding to that, we implemented the three man defence right after him and bought palacio right after him which as an even bigger bitch move by us

I'd really like to forget about Forlan and Zarate. If you wouldn't mind never bringing them up again, thanks :)

I do remember being concerned about his undying love for 3-4-3 when he was appointed, but he reassured us he could utilize other formations. First thing you know, we're playing 3-4-3 and our arguably most important player at the time (Sneijder) looked completely out of position.

I don't dislike him and think management was also at fault, but Gasperini was way out of his depth and didn't do himself any favours in his brief stint with us.

some coaches get good results with low-table or mid-table teams but fail miserably when they get the chance at a top club. it's not just Inter of course:does anyone remember how awful del neri was a t juventus, or David Moyes at manchester united, just to name two? and these coaches usually don't get another chance at the top, because their brief stints at a top club show how inadequate they are.

it's one thing to teach football to young and/or mediocre players, to have no pressure (or at least nothing that could be compared to a club like Inter), a whole other thing to handle emotionally hard situations, to improve a team made of great players, to find a way for them to perform at the best of their possibilities. it's almost two different jobs.

now, coaches like gasperini and mazzarri should ask themselves a couple of questions rather than spit on a club that covered them in gold, by the way. if you want to have the right to criticize because you feel you have been treated in an unfair way, then at the very least resign and do not take money from that club.

To be fair, his interview before the game was fine, and he didn't same anything much against Inter... just that he wasn't sure what our management wanted since they should have known he plays with a 3-man defence which I agree with.

I don't get any additional satisfaction from this win because he was Atalanta's coach, I think the guy is a decent coach, probably best for smaller-mid table clubs.

We hire a 60 year old coach, who keeps wasting our chances, and you beg other coaches to help stop our CL spot rivals!

He couldn't handle one match a week this season, what makes you think he will do better next season with two matches a week?

Wtf are you on about?
I've always found the "2 games a week = tired players" a bullshit argument. These are professional athletes, not geriatric patients. Even our current thin squad could handle 2 games a week. In fact, ALL teams who participate in European tournaments handle it - even Maribor FC and Qarabag FK.

I'd even argue that the higher frequency of games benefit the understanding between the players and give the coach more chances to try out players in different positions to find their optimal one.

Wow, be careful you might piss of all the fans here. Some thought it was good for Icardi to not play for NT because of injuries and tireness. Imagine them going nuts when he has 2 games a week and now maybe also NT?

They'll call the suicide line.

Such refreshing offensive football for a >60 year old coach  Never in danger of losing the locker room too.

Great tactician but couldnt manage our lot. Remember how he played Sniejder in center mid :palm: Was even better at Genoa.

So, Gasperini can beat Jube with midfielders like De Roon, Pasalic and Freuler. Just saying.

3-5-2 is his game, his legacy. Spent his entire life perfecting it.

This is how football is supposed to be played, not as individuals, but as a team, with refined and tactical discipline. When you reach that level the names on the field barely matter.

Which is also the reason why you should be super extra careful before buying any player from Atalanta. hopefully our management has learnt their lesson with gagliardini
