well according to football-lineups.com.. he played 14 games, 11 in Serie A and 2 in CI.. quite not bad stats but I just want to know how did he do?

I only saw him in 2 games (and I wasn't paying strict attention) but I thought he was ok. He looked comfortable in defense and going forward. He's fairly quick as well. I don't know if he's Inter quality based on my limited knowledge of him but if he doesn't make it in Nerazzurri colors, he'll make it somewhere in Serie A.

Are you talking about Della Fiore or Alessandro Potenza?

Just kidding :p

Don't forget Pasquale! I really thought that guy was gonna be the next great left-back when he was with us. He did have a sweet left foot after all :p

Have no idea how Jonathan is in our squad and Donati isn't.

He's been absolutely dominating defensively in the U-21 Euro so far. Knows his angles, adjust to the offensive player and what he wants to do trying to take it away from him, very smart and intelligent reading situations and knowing when to back off or pressure, physical and doesn't mind roughing it up at all.
Not the fastest 1st step and acceleration(which is compensated by the above, mainly his defensive IQ) - but when he reaches full stride he's quite a fast player.
Offensively somewhat limited on the ball, but he knows how to support his line and rush forward overlapping.

He's absolutely a worthy Serie A fullback. Maybe in the Mazzari system he won't have as much value cause he can't initiate offense that well which is more a factor then defense which is his strength - but even so, he'd be a better and effective depth option then the guys we currently posses at RB other then Zanetti.

Would not at all be surprised to hear Serie A teams and teams in general calling us about him after these Euros. Refreshing to see a FB who actually defends.

A Serie A loan beckons for Donati, who really deserves a chance in our first team. I watched the majority of the Italy u-21 vs netherlands game and he seemed to be very good, alongside the other Inter youngsters in the back 5. Donati tackled well against John, a very good winger, and made some great runs with the ball. His passing was also quite impressive for a full-back.

i mean the guy is never gonna be maicon, but he could at least be a solid RB - we need people who can defend, then we can worry about having people who can defend AND attack.

Same reason I like Pasa so much - SOLID.

Totally unspectacular but totally competent.

its one thing to do well against youngsters who are under 21 but replicating the same sort of form against grown men in serie a is a lot harder to achieve. But he is certainly something to watch out for, has good potential.

that is also true, he's only played 27 Serie B matches this season - but most of the games he missed was at the start of the season before, presumably, he asserted himself in the team

i would love it if he becomes our de sciglio who is an exceptional player now. We just need to believe in our youngsters, seriously my brother still cracks up whenever he talks about inter because we sold all our best youngsters who showed immense potential for a rather meagre amount apart from balo whose sale yielded a large sum. We have the best youth setup in italy and one of the best in the world, yet we have none playing in our first team. Conversely, almost all are best young set of talents are plying their trade elsewhere, not to mention one of our best young talent produced over the past decade or so is playing for our direct rivals aka meelan. It saddens me whenever i see a former youth player from inter doing incredibly well somewhere else. I hope moratti will be patient with mazzari and especially with our young prodigies. The worst thing to ever happen would be if kovacic falls out with the president for instance and in a fit of anger moratti ships him off to our arch enemies like milan or jube.

Do you think he can fit into the RWB role with Mazzarri?

See, on that side I'm not sure.

In Italy U-21 he's actually done quite well getting forward and creating crosses and so on - but I don't think he does it often enough to be an RWB. At the same time, I'd rather have, personally, defensively solid RWB and LWB than ones who get forward and create chances. Lets not forget that last season we had like the 2nd most goals conceeded - this needs to be fixed first IMHO.

If my sources are correct, Brazil invented the fullback role in the late 50s........

Yeah and we were always pretty balanced when we had a more defensive LB and Maicon roaring down the right flank ahh those were the days.

it's not about that. both Lahm and Alaba can roam forward. it's more about how you organize yourself in every given situation. Mourinho had us prepared, Strama still hasn't got a clue about that segment or we really have a bad team right now.
