The Ghana penalti i admit it was not penalti, but after all the stealls to the african teams (also ghana with stupid yellow cards) they deserve it.
Let's see what they do vs Brazil, they have no Essien and some injuries....
Ghana has been by far the best team of the group playing football, win the czech it's too much....

S'è cinta la testa!!!

Wonderful match from Italia - not offensively perhaps - but defensively!!! I must admit that i was worried when i saw Materazzi entering the pitch, but he had a very good match and the goal was just great (Hamed is probably crying? ). Grosso was also a lot better than he was in first match. Pirlo and expecially Cannavaro were very good. Totti was disappointing as was Gilardino.

All in all, a good win.

Grande Italia!!!

Don't worry Tommi, I didn't see the game and not planning to :p

Materazzi is now the run-away leader for MVP of the World Cup!

No team is already in the semis.

However, another Italy vs Korea would be nice. Revenge for the last world cup's game.

Actually it was a very good game by Italy. They played their own game and didn't give Czech almost any chances. Of course the red card gave Italy more space to breathe, so there was no hurry to attack or anything. Brilliant match defensively. Now everything is set up for at least to semifinals for Italy.

Forza Azzurri!

Did you guys see that Gattuso v Lippi incident after Inzaghi's goal? Gatto went over to Lippi and made the gesture of chocking him (he does it often with Ancelotti, in a playful way obviously), missed his neck and got him a bit in the face. Lippi said: "Che cazzo fai?" which mean "What the phuck are you doing?".

Firstly, your jokes are shit - they need to improve. ;)

Secondly why do you care about my Ultra attitude, to me you seem like one of the prawn sandwich fans (have you ever even been to a Barca match? :wth: ). The CN leaders right now have nothing to do with Inter. not many people do - only the people who have enough time to write pages and pages of whatever our formation should be a new season, why should I do this???

Fabio, UHUHUH style::lol:

sshhhh...kid..it's all good.

Inter is dead in summer, cannavarro is a great captain and tunisians are dirty.

What a great Ultra you are..

"Have you ever been to a Barca match?"

Are you allowed to watch Inter games without your parents??

I'll comment on the match itself later on. Too excited right now.

Suspended, Hamed. It's a shame because he would really be the main threat against Brazil.

LOL at all those saying that Italy are through to the semis. You guys just don't learn.

No Shit?? You ain't an Ultra....but you are a spiceboy wannabe, aren't you? ;)

Look man...you watch out how you call Tunisians(and I don't farking care about your emotions), you better not run an Ultras thread and then say "Inter is dead", and then I will send you my pics from Camp Nou. Deal?

Now be a good boy and play somewhere else.

Another win in truly Italian style!:D

It's only a shame that I'll be forced to root against Italy in the 2nd round.:irritate:

He wasn't injured just that Lippi probably didn't play him because of his previous average games, instead he tried just the one all out striker up front.

Fabio ;)

First of all, I must applaud Lippi for his tactical changes. Switching from the 4-4-2 to the 4-5-1 was just what the doctor ordered for the squadra. One forward to keep the flow of the game moving, pick up fouls in our advantage, thus leaving less gaps in our midfield for opponents to attack. Individually, we’re playing some out of position so we have less stand-outs, but if it works for the benefit of the team, then so be it. In the USA game, our lack of speed was exposed and too much room was left in our midfield. With Pirlo, Perrotta, Gattuso and Camo running to fill them, much less open shots were given. My one problem is his player choice, I think Luca Toni would fit perfectly just upfront because of his aerial ability.

Worked the flanks perfectly with the addition of Grosso on the left and really should’ve pack the penalty box with head much more, but defending a 1-0 lead, we were playing smart football. How important is Pirlo to this team? Receiving a fair bit of criticism heading to this World Cup for his form at Milan, I dare say that he and Cannavaro have been our best by a landslide. The passing and distribution of the ball is left all up to him and he’s been damn near flawless, IMO.

Totti’s lack of confidence worries me. A bit dodgy at times, but his fitness to play 90 minutes is certainly there. However, not running at defenders as he should be and was a little too lax. Hopefully he’s saving his best for later on.

Nothing but praise for the whole defensive display, including clowns like Matrix. No mistimed tackles or fouls. Hopefully Nesta’ll make it for the second round, though.

Stefan just be quiet.

Please.

We are not 5th in the world, but you don't have to rub it in. We controlled the game, we just couldn't finish.

Ghana players went down injured in the 2nd half every few minutes to take time off the clock. They committed 30 fouls to never let us have a flow.

30 FOULS!

And they dived for a PK

They did what any profesional side in that position would have done. They were infront probaly knew at ht that the czechs were behind and a man down and all they was to keep there result.

Ghana allowed you to control the game , they played counterattack football after they went in front since they knew the USA had to come at them.

Too bad Essien will miss the round of 16 game but Muntari and Gyan will be back from their suspension.

The left side's offensive work isn't good enough, a bit weak compared to the right side.
