I say even if just scores 1 goal vs Bbilan each season, it would be worth those 5m

Members complain this transfer four pages (and counting) and still votes for:

"2 - Consistent starter. A strong domestic player, lesser known outside of Italy, like Thiago Motta."

Isn't that a pretty good deal for free signing although he has big contract?

I voted number 1. because I am still optimistic that Inter will have a strong squad and thats why Çalhanoğlu will be rotation player for Lukaku and Lautaro.

He so far played under 'not so good' coaches. He may become better under S.inzaghi who has a knack for improving players, we've seen that with Luis alberto, j.correa and SMS. These 3 aforementioned players were not even half of what calhanoglu is now when they first signed for Lazio. So who knows.

The key is mental state, to me he's too has fragile mentally, things don't go his way in game he just crumples and everything goes to shit, passing, touch, shooting, maybe Inzaghi can figure this out, give him the confidence he needs to excel. I noticed at Milan he played a range of positions in midfield even regista which is a plus.

Also great freekick goal:

Lets be positive I guess.

Key player. One of the best players in the team, but not world class. Think de Vrij. ???

Gotta change this. If Lucio was world class for Inter, ofc De Vrij was world class as well

He's getting 500k more this season than what Milan offered (4M net) +1M bonuses with a scudetto. 5M net is the last 2 years.

Man, this guy's shithousery levels are unmatched.:yao:

4 years at Milan and switched to Inter because of 500k ( and better squad obv)

Different sites are saying 5+1 bonus

I mean switching for 500k makes him an even bigger dbag

2.5 potential I mean that’s almost double. I’d make the switch :)

A large part of my family are Milan fans…. They don’t even care we are getting him. Think the Arsenal rumors were just to get a stupid Italian team to over pay him. Did we learn nothing from the Vidal situation

How can de Vrij be considered world class if he can't even play for his nationals, he is lucky Van Dijk is injured.

I am open to tweaks on the poll moving forward. I created that in five minutes off the top of my mind last summer.

The fact he wasn't playing when Van Dijk was injury free was already very questionable. Even now when he is the most solid defender both on and off the ball people rate him not very high in Holland. He should get some more respect from his fellow countryman.

How about...

Baggio played only two seasons at Inter. How could he be La grande Inter material? BTW Ronaldo is not in grande Inter section in this forum.

GdS reports his salary breakdown is 4.5m€, 5m€ and 5m€. No additional bonuses. Apart from team bonuses, which are obviously added to everyone by default.

So it's not so terrible to the initial rumor of 5m+1m salary.

He left Milan in a second for only 500k. What an asshole!
Imagine how we would react if Brozo or Skrniar would make such a move!!!

And it's one million raise after the first season. That's +25% to the money he would have gotten at Milan.

Welcome Hakan! Emre wishes you well :D

Surprised to see how many people here underrate this transfer just because he is coming over from milan! Yes, he is a mercenary and probably didn`t believe in the milan project after Dollarumma left. But let`s not forget about creating value for the club by bringing in assests for reasonable money, aside from his consistent stats. Suddenly there was a gap in our squad which the club had to quickly fill with 0 budget available (actually minus). INTER will be paying him 40% less than Eriksen while he has better stats, how`s that not a great deal?

Milan payed €23.3m for Çalhanoğlu. He has played 172 games for Milan and was involved in 80 goals (32 goals, 48 assists). Hakan becomes the 27th player to transfer from AC Milan to Inter — 30 players moved the other way.

Marotta generating football history again :einstein: : with his current a market value of €35 million, Calhanoglu is among the ten most valuable free transfers in history — he is at the same level as Michael Ballack (from Bayern to Chelsea in 2006).

I remember the last player we bought that had that expression and it didn't work out. Hopefully he will contribute more than one important goal for the CL qualification.

I do not endorse this, but let's hope we don't do any crazy shit like selling Hakimi and Barella.
He does not seem excited, indeed - probably received bad messages from upset milan fans.

I don`t see how selling Hakimi is related to this transfer and don`t understand how you can still hope that after Conte leaving, all the reports of club having to generate money from player sales.

Well seeing as we’re broke, this is a good signing considering we got him on a free transfer. He’s a decent player but nowhere near starting calibre in our squad. Wouldn’t mind him as a sub/rotation.
Exactly, as usual Marotta did his best given the circumstances. You are naive to think we are paying him that kind of money post-pandemic for him to sit on the bench.

Seems like a direct replacement for Eriksen: free kick specialist.

Welcome Hakan!

Of course this was not a free transfer as free. Free agent transfer yes, not free. We paid 3.5m€ commission to his agent. So the total cost of having him per year is around 10.5m€ ( gross salary + 3.5m€ commission spread over 3 contract years).
Thanks for sharing this valuable info. Still an excellent deal for a player:
- already confirmed in Serie A, knows language
- settled in the same city (instant impact can be expected)
- great vision and assist ability (10 assists/season guaranteed)
- ideal age (mature enough with prime to come)

Wish him good luck and many trophies won in our club!
