His penalty is what separates average and specialist penalty taker. His delivery doesn't leave any chance for the GK. He aims for the bottom corner and unleashes it with power. Even if he fails in future, it will be due to misfortune or GK's brilliance. It is very different with Lautaro, Alexis, or other average takers. They would use fancy techniques only to roll the ball somewhere in the middle. Consequently, GK still has a considerable chance to save the penalty if he stands his ground long enough or if he guesses right. It was something used to happen to us before Hakan steps up. Thus, Hakan should be our default designated PK taker from now on full stop.

Yeah, we do see a variety of penalty styles. But hitting the corner of the goal with enough power is a guaranteed goal. Which is an art of itself.

Some tackles are quite harsh and can be considered as dangerous, no matter if you touch the ball first. Hakan's tackle was rough af, of course not red card worthy because it was very close to the ground but definitely a yellow card. I would complain if he would have been sent off though, but since he got away with a yellow, there's no need to go further. That was a dirty tackle.

This guy has had some brilliant shots off the crossbar/post. I'm thinking of the Euroderby and yesterday as well. We typically get a screamer from him each season so hoping for one (preferably more) this year as well (one against Verona last season was amazing).

To me he seems like he's physically a level above the rest. There's players who can run a lot but Hakan's explosiveness, tackling, aerial ability, excecuting things with the ball and so on, that makes him unreal. These things mentioned take extra energy out of you, especially when you have to destribute the ball constantly around as you're the organizator, at the same time you have to sprint back and win the ball.

We are surely fucked if he picks up a long term injury. It doesn't seem like it, but you never know with football.

I remember reading our cousin’s forum a few years ago and someone called Hakan a “beach player” there meaning that when things go well for a team Hakan is world-class and when things go south he just disappears in the game. He turned things around, didn’t he?

Poor display tonight. I'd also put some blame on Mkhi and Frattesi for not making things any easier since Hakan was constantly isolated from their players.

Still think he must play in every match. Sub him off for Asllani when he's gassed out, but we need his presence in the pitch. Don't underestimate Frosinone, they can hurt us.

Barella, Asllani and Frattesi is a VERY unbalanced midfield which can be a suicidal decision.
