Tbh this is true of many of our players. Barella, Hakan, lautaro are all factually underperforming at the top level over the last couple of seasons. They're the players who should be carrying us, instead they get carried
I wonder, who was doing the carrying?

I don't see Calhanoglu being particularly bad in this match. Barella was very important aswell, huge shift, endless running. Mkhitaryan was a let-down this time.

Inter players have made a pact to celebr8 in style in case the 20th title is won against AC Milan.

Here's a recent interview:
“My toughest opponent? I have to say Neymar,” said the Turkiye international in his interview with Gli Autogol.

On the other hand, he named his compatriot Arda Turan as his strongest teammate ever.

“It’s not easy to choose one. I’ll take all my teammates. But if I have to pick one, I’d say Arda Turan. He was my captain in Turkey when I was a young player.”

Calhanoglu also revealed Marko Arnautovic, Nicolo Barella and Marcus as the biggest ‘troublemakers’ in the group.

“The biggest troublemakers we have in the locker room are Barella, Thuram and Arnautovic. Thanks to them, we always laugh.”

The Regista has been perfect from the spot since joining Inter in 2021. But if he has to step aside, he would choose Arnautovic as his replacement.

“I’d pick, Arnautovic. He’s great at penalties.”

Gli Autogol are renowned for their light-hearted manners, so they tried to playfully provoke Calhanoglu over his past statements about being the best Regista in the world.

“When will I win the Ballon d’Or? There is no specific date. I didn’t say I’ll win the Ballon d’Or, but I declared that in that period, I felt like the best Regista in the world.

“But I do realize there are other strong players out there.”

Hakan also picked his ideal five-a-side team from the current generation. He picked his Inter teammates Barella and Mkhitaryan in the middle of the park.

“Without pissing anyone off, I’d say Szczesny in goal. As a defender, I’d pick Van Dijk, in midfield Barella and Mkhitaryan and Mbappé in attack.”

Finally, the midfielder was asked to build the perfect Inter player while picking individual attributes from his teammates.

The perfect Inter player would have Frattesi’s physique, Buchanan’s speed and Mkhitaryan’s technique”.
No mention of Zlatan 🤭

He doesn't need to do anything Anti-Milan, winning the derby for the crown is good enough. We shouldn't make this Scudetto about Milan :) like Milan made their Scudetto about Calhanoglu not winning it

It makes me so happy just watching Hakan in all these videos where he's there with his team mates, laughing most of the time or having a genuine happy grin on his face.

Don't have one.
Holy shit, I can only imagine how happy he is. Having to put with all the insults from milan fans and players as well, and then winning it in front of their faces must feel magical.

I mean, if you put that in the movie it would feel kinda unrealistic. Ffs both clubs are well over 100 years old, and it never happened until now. So many things and games had to fall correctly into the timeline that it is mind-blowing. That's when you know god chose you in that fight

We don't even have to imagine 🤭 here he is:

Calhanoglu ‘can’t forget what Milan fans did’ and gets ‘revenge’ with Inter’s Serie A title

The Turkey international released an interview with Il Giornale following Inter’s Serie A title victory on Monday.

The Nerazzurri clinched their 20th Scudetto after a 2-1 win over city rivals Milan, Calhanoglu’s former club.
“I am happy and proud to have reached this extraordinary target,” the Turkey international told Il Giornale, as quoted by fcinter1908.it.
“We strongly wanted the second star, and we deserved this achievement for the amazing work we did together. I’ve rewatched videos of celebrations with the fans and I still can’t believe it. It’s such a big joy that it can’t be described.”

Calhanoglu responded to abuse from Milan fans on Instagram minutes after Inter’s double victory on Monday.

The experienced midfielder has been insulted by his former fans since joining the Nerazzurri on a free transfer in 2021.
“I’ve always worked in silence and suffered too,” he said.
“My only target at Inter was to give my best and win with this extraordinary team. Yesterday’s win was a great revenge for me.
Revenge & biggest satisfaction
Calhanoglu ‘can’t forget what Milan fans did’
“It was revenge because of the suffering I endured when I arrived and we lost [the Serie A title]. I can’t forget what Milan fans did to my family and me, but I knew in my heart that everything would have finished well,” he continued.

“To win the title in the derby was the biggest satisfaction. It was all written. God wanted it because he knew I deserved it.”

Calhanoglu has scored 25 goals in 132 appearances with Inter and the Scudetto is his sixth trophy at the club after two Coppa Italia and three Supercoppa Italiana.
I knew it will take less than a day for Hakan to speak again 😁

I don't know why, and this is not based in absolutely anything other than my opinion, but I have a feeling this guy would leave Inter in a milisecond should an opportunity come to move to Real, City, etc. I just have a feeling he would want to somehow prove himself to be the best in whatever.
