Do we need to extend his contract?
I mean his Gross ain't that bad, also within the range, I don't mind extend him for a year at least.
Exspecially if our 4th forward is around 4.6

OR will he lose GD next year?

“We are all here for one objective, it doesn't matter if I start or am on the bench, what matters is that we all give our contribution and support. The coach chooses the starting XI, we all want the second star and it doesn't matter who plays, we are all bricks in the same wall.

“The team has changed, but those who arrived know full well what it means to play for Inter and what is expected of us. You see everyone is eager to give a hand and help out, whether they start or not."

What a quote.

I remember what Hakan said sometime before the season. "we all agreed there was too many dropped points last season. We want to change that this year"

They all seem to have set the clear objectives and the title is the number one target. Obviously getting to Coppa final at the expense of potentially Milan in the semis has to be another one :D

I'm not sure but I think the max limit of Growth decree years is reached in 2024. Meaning half of next season he'd cost the normal gross salary for the club. However I guess he might be worth it still. Next summer we will probably look for a new midfielder (to replace Klaassen of this season's roster) so extending Mhkitaryan would make sense as we won't have funds for an overhaul.

Mkhi is playing like 22 years old. I think he will be even more productive this season. Limone won't have headaches of worrying what the bench will offer, as we don't have trash in our bench anymore.

It's only beginning of season, so once the schedule gets busy, he will get rested enough to remain competitive.

For example, if we had enough quality options in attack, pretty sure Dzeko would never gone in that run of terrible form. He was gassed out because of playing constantly in every competition. So, I think this season will be easier for our veterans.

I think barring significant injuries I would say he has at least 2-3 years of high quality football left in him given how he’s running with the ball at his feet

It seems to me that 35 is the new 30 in modern football. Way too many players are doing very well around this age compared to a decade ago or so.

That's because football has gone more athletic these days. Back in the day there was so much more elegance, pure talent and whatever, while now it's almost all about physical condition and speed.

Training programs are more advanced, there is more discipline and so on. So yeah, players tend to last more these days because of these reasons mentioned above.

But back in the day, the tackles were really dangerous, putting one in a hospital bed real fast. Look at that asshole Vinnie Jones tackles. Now days, players are protected from that, and they play longer.

I wouldn't rush with giving him a new contract. He is playing really well lately and surely he deserves a one-year extension. But I'm afraid that he will get relaxed when he gets that one year.

Player longevity increased just as the longevity for humans in general increased. Refined training methods, resources etc. It is easier to stay fit and well oiled up to your 40s and beyond granted you take care of yourself and remain desciplined.

He is being playing well from the beginning of last year, if you missed it. As for 3 rd. year contract, he most likely plays only 50 percent of the games, allowing Frattesi to shine.

Genetics also play a big part.

He's never won the league with any of BVB, MU, Arsenal, Roma or us. He'll be playing his lungs out this year and probably next for that coveted Scudetto. And yeah, maybe he turns out to be another Modric - playing at a high level for another 2-3 years. I sure hope so.

Quite a frustrating display tonight, contrary to his legendary performance at the derby. That shows why having 7 midfielders isn't a bad idea after all, considering Sensi is injured (again) and Frattesi is not fully healthy as per Simone.

Played like a true Matias Vecino, running away from the ball
