[FONT=Arial,Helvetica,Geneva,Swiss,SunSans-Regular]Crespo: Why I chose Inter…[/FONT]
Monday 7 August, 2006
[FONT=Arial,Helvetica,Geneva,Swiss,SunSans-Regular]Hernan Crespo has revealed why Inter won the Milan transfer derby to net his signature from Chelsea.

The Argentine joined the Nerazzurri this morning on a two-year deal despite the Rossoneri also being hot on his heels.

“They were more forceful in their efforts to sign me,” Crespo told a media conference at his official unveiling this evening.

“I want to say thank you to [owner Massimo] Moratti, [Coach Roberto] Mancini, [director Lele] Oriali and [director Marco] Branca. I’m happy that they all believe in me and I’ll pay them back.”

Crespo, who has already played for both clubs in his career, has returned to the Nerazzurri after leaving for Chelsea in a £16.8m deal three years ago.

“I left the Pinetina training base in tears back in August 2003, now I’m back here smiling,” he continued following his free move.

“I remember that it was hard for me to leave here because Inter were like a massive family for me and I didn’t think I would have another chance.

“However, that has now arrived and I want to take advantage of it.

“I’m feeling an incredible amount of joy. I know that I have a lot of responsibility on me, but the pressure doesn’t scare me. I have great hunger and I hope to do well, very well.

“I have re-found Inter, a club and a team in which I had an intense rapport and one which I have always respected.”

Crespo has admitted that he has yet to speak to Coach Mancio, but believes he will have little problem settling back into the club or the tactician’s plans.

“I haven’t spoken directly to the Coach, but I have known Roberto Mancini for years,” he said. “He was a great aid for me at Lazio and we have remained in touch since then.

“I am at the team’s and the Coach’s total disposal. I’ll play with my heart and give my all, this is the spirit which keeps me going on a daily basis.

“It is a great honour for me to be back here after my name was linked with some great European clubs in recent days.”

Nice words from Hernan, don't know if he means them or not :p

Anyway, I believe in this transfer and I hope Crespo can learn Adri a few things :)

Everything Crespo has said is true.

I still remeber his words, he said that he didn't want to leave Inter AT ALL, but Moratti was so excited to sell him.

Even Vieri went mad and told Moratti to sell him with Crespo.

Well, I guess we're the winners after all.

Look at the facts:

- Selling Crespo brought us Cruz.
- Selling Crespo gave us alot of money.
- We don't have to pay back the money we got from Chelsea to take Hernan back, we have him on loan.
- Crespo is also Mancini's freind, just like Miha, Veron, Cesar and Favalli AND he's better than all of them!
- Selling Crespo means one main striker, Vieri, means we had to sign a new one when Cuper left, means we had to sign Adriano. :p

So, I wanna say thank you Crespo. :star:

One more point there

Selling Crespo, brings back Crespo, and without Crespo, we won the Scudetto, and with him, we will win the Scudetto

So thank you crespo :star:

Stop wasting time saying we hate him. Like it or not, he's ours now so we just have to support him and hope that he scores goals.

Even if he can't score, we can at least console ourselves. HE'S FREE !!!

If inter insists on one more striker then I'm afraid martins will really be leaving. and this one we can say NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

I hope we will not sell young Martins and go for old Toni, or selfish Zlatan, who only thinks about money.

I think our transfer deals are done :interscarf:

That's a photoshop job right?

Anyway, Han must be over the moon :D

I'm not Crespo's biggest fan, to me he's just slightly better than Vieri, mercenary-wise.

Still I can't deny he can really give us what lacked last year, a player who scores goals, doesn't miss much, can score against big teams.

In some ways Crespo is like Inzaghi, he's a poacher but he has shown that he has great technique too.

It hurts my eyes to read "Let's hope Ibra comes too" so many times. God knows why you'd want to pay that big money for an overrated piece of shit who can't score, is a major troublemaker and is also an arrogant, smug, mercenary bastard.

By the way, once again thumbs up to Branca and Oriali for beating Milan and securing Crespo on a sweet free loan for 2 years (I really don't see Chelsea using their option of buying him back at the end of the year).

For the first time ever since joining these forums I completely agree with Frankie here. I'm far from a Crespo fan but if he acts the role of the Inter version of Inzaghi, I'll be happy. I also agree with the Ibra part.

I really hope this doesn't hurt Oba. If we still go after Toni and manage to get him, I vastly prefer Recoba to be sold instead of Oba. :|

Anyway, welcome Crespo!

Great sign i just hope tat this do not mean that Oba will leave.

Now we really do not need Cruz. REcoba still is not 100% signed new contract.

When Crespo left we signed Cruz, no Crespo returned we need to sell Cruz

But again I will say if we will sell one of our strikers in my opinion Recoba is 1st candidate. If we will sell someone else then Cruz :)

Welcome back Hernan. I can't say I am happy about this transfer I would have prefered Toni. But since i loved him as a player when he was here before I am sure I will grow to like him again.

Javier Zanetti,
crespo's arrival will mean that martins, recoba, or cruz may have to find a new home unless they are moving to bilan.

If Inter sells Martins, our youngest and most talanted strikers, they will make a big mistake :frustrat:

well someone's gonna have to leave recoba signed a new contract, cruz is gonna be here next season, there's only one player who can leave MARTINS.

We can do nothing about this, but this desition is very bad. Martins will shine in other club :frustrat:

Toldo, Adriano,
It's great that Crespo came back. I'd like to see him and Adriano up front. Great forward-line, lots of goals to be coming.

yeah it is a good strikeforce but the problem is it may end up like the vieri and adriano partnership.

I have already predicted 50+ goals for Adriano-Crespo in all competitions this season :interscarf:

i just hope they don't get in each other's way like adriano and vieri, i think adriano will be first choice and second may depend on ther remaining fixtures in pre season.

I don't think that could happen. Adriano played with Gilardino in Parma and they did good, same Crespo with Sheva in Milan. I think Adriano-Crespo will do great job for Inter :)

I wouldn't understand why Moratti would lie to us about Recoba's contract extention.

Now, I think we'll lose either Oba or Chino and bring in one of Tavano, Toni, Trezeguet or Zlatan. I can't see us being finished at the market just yet.
