Ahahaha yeah, it was a while ago but he tried to avoid serving in the Korean Army via pulling his teeth out. It got real messy, and he tried to make a comeback last year, but I don't think it worked.

An older but equally famous case is that of Steve Yoo, who was a big-hit idol in Korea in the late 90's and early 2000's. He held US&Korean passports and declared that he would enlist in the Korean Army, only to backtrack and give up his Korean passport. The media and gov't got so pissed that he's banned from Korea... even now (he was banned in 2002).

I thought we're talking about hip-hop here, not some phony ass sell-out. I mean, the lyrics in Krisko's songs are totally yao. Most of his fans are 12 year old girls. Think about that.

It's true that the old-school DRS/Nokaut type of performers aren't making anything new, but there are some decent young guys out there already.
