eto'o is more clinical than most people give him credit for, i can only recall one glaringly bad miss from him this season

I think people just assume he's clinical only based on stats. And he's missed a lot this season and even more last season. Eto'o has no placement, he just blasts it at the goal as hard as he can

It all depends on how Chelsea play. If they play like United did it will suit us, but I'm pretty sure we will be harrassed all night in midfield...

Let's hope it doesn't turn out to be another Barcelona match again.

Hope it's a repeat of the Milan derby!

Would love to know WHAT THE FUCK is the deal with us not scoring in CL. Depresses me
Other people are right, that we play very cautiosly, however I think the luck was a bigger factor.

Milan for example, yesterday had a lot of chances, the amount of chances we couldn't have with the way we play, but at the same time they risked a lot more, which ended how it ended. It's the risk you take playing like that. If they scored half the chances they had the situation would be different. But... they didn't.

Going back to us, we had our own chances to score also, and the luck was not on our side. Ibrahimovic hitting the bar last year, and then Adriano hitting the post in second half. If that is not bad luck, what is ?

The year before in Liverpool confrontations Cruz wasted a golden opportunity after a pass from Ibrahimovic.

Just luck, nothing else. If it wasn't one game I could agree to something else playing a bigger factor here, but if we take all those games in recent years, the luck is number 1 culprit.

As for the game, if people (probably not here; I mean the people who don't support either of those, just will want to watch some football) expect this game to look the same as the game Milan had, they are for a big suprise ;)

We will not be so open, we will try to play a ballanced game, and chelsea will either try to do the same, or they will sit and wait for counter. That will produce of a lot of slow play, and significantly less chances for both sides.

they play a little defensive-tend style ... and they being missing Essien is a big blow for them, not only according to most recent results, but also according to his contributions in their CL campaigns..

if our backline can hold the trio of (Drogba - Anelka - Malouda) - although i doubt Ancelotti to play Malouda with a 4-3-3 strategy - we may have a big chance for a clean home sheet, and then it's only a matter of scoring goals for our sake... WE HAVE TO score at home as they may be missing key players ATM, who knows at the Stamford Bridge they may have them back in the away leg next month!!...
i think Ancelotti will play 4 midfielders in San Siro, guessing (Lampard - Ballack - Mikel - Deco\Malouda) in a 4-4-2 strategy..
and so i guess this strategy will make it harder for us to score against them and reach their box.. we need to play a 4-2-3-1 formation against it imo..

the problem is, Mourinho may think about holding the defense more than anything else in the first place, by playing:
Maicon --------------- Santon
Zanetti - Cucho - Deki\Muntari
Sneijder
and so, if Deki isn't fit, our formation will be more defensively-tend more than being offensive.. so come on Deki!! i loved some previous optimistic posts about Deki fighting to play in it ;) forza Inter!

Remember that Milan are a totally different side in CL, they seem to switch to another side whenever playing there, while we have always stumbled and choked when in CL, though so many new players in the first team give hope that there's new blood and mentality.

I think balo and eto/pandev will be on the bench, i say if we are still at a draw at 70-80 mins mourinho will send in the reinforcements. Balo, Eto, Pandev, Milito... you know when mourinho needs a win he got balls to play 4-5 up front lol

I'm not surprised about this, since I knew that Deki will be ready against Chelsea.. but yeah great news, and I'm very happy for this.. so his comeback at the team would be very good, because without him we are very poor at midfield.. Cambiaso and Zanetti isn't very good duo.

But I doubt in Deki's form, if he's not in form than it will be fucking bad, but let's hope that he'll be in form, so his contribution to the team would help us to beat them.

He needs at least half an hour, preferably one hour against Sampdoria.

Yeah, we should play Eto'o aganist Chelsea.. he is monster in CL and is proved, but still don't adopted perfectly in Serie A. We shouldn't leave him in bench against Chelsea, because his contribute would help us in maximum to beat them, he has great experience in CL and we all know this.

I hope that he won't fail and aganist Chelsea because seriously he can lose his place in our formation.. this match is VERY important for him, he should prove.
