Man, fuck Branca..
So their coach Paulo Sousa played 2 seasons at Inter from winter of 98 to winter of 2000.
I was too young at the time to remember all the dudes who played for us...he probably wasn't anything special eh?!
Paulo Sousa was a class act as a player, very underrated. Unfortunately his best was before his spell at Inter, by the time he joined us he was already half the player he used to be because of injuries. But IMO he was the real deal - a classy regista - one of the best of his time. He was one of the key architects of the (failed) golden generation of Portugal, which also included Figo & Rui Costa. Sousa is also one of the 4 players to have won consecutive CLs, but IMO he did not achieve as much as his talent should have allowed him to because of injuries.
Top player, one of the finest registas I have seen.
All that time spent watching Paolo Sousa when you were 9.
Dude, I am so much older than you.

"I'm able to judge if the team is playing well or not, if we can improve and if we're making mistakes. I don't think there are any teams that can be considered perfect. Inter have got the right mentality. I respect everyone's views but I'm happy with my own to be quite honest.
"The players know that expectations are always high at Inter, like at any big club. I don't think they're under pressure. They've got off to a good start but that's because they have toiled and battled hard. We just need to make sure we keep it up."
"I saw the president here at Appiano yesterday and he was happy. We're all happy."
On the Viola:
"Fiorentina were already playing good football last season. They're a very dangerous side in attack. We'll need to make the most of the chances we have because it's going to be very difficult for both teams. You need to be careful at all times, no matter who you're playing. They're a very good technical team with some excellent offensive players."
On the real #10 in the team and the condition of other players:
"Ljajic has the ability to play in that role but he's only just arrived and played his first game on Wednesday. He's tremendously skilful but needs to get to know the team and his team-mates.
"Miranda and Murillo are the two centre-backs and we know that Medel can play there too. We have different options to choose from and maybe rest people. Medel could play anywhere, even in a more attacking midfield role.
"You need to have a fairly strong physical presence on the pitch but we also have technical players such as Ljajic, Jovetic and even Melo."
"Juan Jesus is ok. He's recovered now."
On the winning streak:
"You only make history if you win come the end of the season. What we need to do is to play well. Putting together a winning streak means nothing if you don't achieve something important at the end."
On a potential change of formation?
"I don't believe the formation is very important. What matters is that the players always perform at their best and give their all."
Inter's critics? (I'm really waiting for Tuttusport's mind games when they start calling out Mancini & the players on the front page )
"Everyone has enemies. Sometimes it's just out of envy, spite or stupidity. Inter are trying to play football but it's not easy because most teams sit back in their own half. If we have more than 63% ball possession every game it must mean that we're doing something right."
Inter's biggest rivals this year:
"I've said all along that there are three teams who are better equipped than we are: Juventus, Roma and Napoli. I think big teams should always aim for the top. Juventus have won the title in the last few years and I think they should still be seen as among the favorites. Obviously it's harder when you have to make up points but they're quite capable of stringing together a run of wins."
"I thank Moratti (praised Roberto on this season's start) for his kind words. If things are going well for us it's credit to the club and the players. The coach's role is always secondary compared to what the players and the club do."
There’s been a lot of talk about the Scudetto in the last few days: do you have to make sure there’s a balance?
“We are Inter, I don’t think there is any pressure on the players. We started well and we have to continue like this.”
Is more attention needed with this Fiorentina?
“It takes more attention, more so against a team this offensive. I think it will be a good match, then we will see how it will end. It will definitely be a good game.”
This week you got compliments from Trapattoni and Capello: what do they mean to you? (For those wondering, we're hearing a lot from Trapattoni lately because of his newer role as a pundit, alongside Zeman, for Rai's Domenica Sportiva on the Azzurri game.)
“That I’m getting old? (Laughs). In Italy, unfortunately, there are cliches. Even that Mancini can’t coach because he doesn’t have the temporary license. You always have to start with the objective of doing your best. It’s not as if I will ever tell a player to go out there and play badly. We're happy about the fact that we look solid. It means we've done a good job. I'm quite pleased for the moment. We don't only need to score more goals; we have to improve defensively too, our possession play – everything."
Against Verona you came into the game later: whyv
“We entered the game later, it is true, however, that can happen against a team like Verona which can create difficulties.”
How is Icardi doing?
“He’s fine, I don’t think he played badly against Verona. Indeed, he was better compared to the match against Chievo.”
Tomorrow’s match also counts for the record sixth consecutive victory?
“I’m already in the history, with Inter I won 17 consecutive matches.”
“We always do the tests every day: the biggest barometer of a football team is the game itself. This is an important barometer for all of us, it will give the directions in which to grow. There are matches of this level that give you an idea of what we are and what we want to do, the way we have to go.”
“If Fiorentina have something more than Inter? We have to understand our ability with great realism, but face all games of the season only with the thought of victory: the moments and the results always give the newspapers a change of assessment of us but also for ourselves. We want to work for a continuous improvement of the individual and the collective to compete with clubs that aspire to the Scudetto. This is a team with experience and maturity. Inter’s players have an important history behind them and all this helps the team to bring home the result."
"Inter are a team that has individual qualities that can be decisive. Suarez? He has the opportunity to play like everyone else. Mario comes from a football that requires a low risk development with the game ideas that are completely different from ours. He is growing and for me he's a major player that has different characteristics compared to what I have in midfield and will be important during the season."
"Inter have a midfield not only in intensity and quality, but also of an important physical component and also great maturity. They are a balanced side, a team that controls the game, which takes the initiative and has the individual quality of the highest level that can make the difference in such a game."
"My idea of playing well relies on the group of players I have and how to develop our play according to the phases of the game. Who will have the most pressure? No doubt Inter, but I do not think that's an advantage for us. We have always been brave, we always try to create chances even if our opponents sometimes do not allow it. Then comes the effectiveness, practicality."
At the bottom of the rainbow you find a wild Dylan swimming in Guiness or some cheap bear he enjoys...
Fiore is a shell of a team, technically we should walk in there and batter them, but we seem to be incoherent in attack, so we'll see.
