OVERFLOWING

Nine goals, three by Milito, four penalties. New, crazy and winning Inter.
The Nerazzurri went up 3-0 with the gifts from Genoa defense.
Then a lucky goal by Moretti initiated a second half with thousand of thrills (and two red cards).

Milan - Then it all ended in glory and that was how it should be, the right thing. But since Andrea Stramaccioni is not a magic wand, it is fair to say that this 5-4 must have made him lose a few kilograms because there are certain conditions that remind him of the "old" Inter. Too many for his taste even though he has only had five days of work. But the most important thing here is that the team still seems to be a stranger to the San Siro where after three draws and two defeats, white smoke came out yesterday with a victory after two months. This taboo was canceled because of a good hand from Genoa, but this is another story or better yet, it will be discussed shortly.

Revival of Zarate Inter had taken very little to call the bluff of Genoa: started bold, then they discovered the beautiful defensive mistakes by the side that has now conceded 56 goals in 30 games. With that, Inter have scored the third goal after the 13th minute mark this season with the first two being against Catania (Cambiasso) and Parma (Milito). Success came, not just because of the inspiration on Milito's part, thanks to the more dynamic line in the midfield than in the recent past and the revitalization of Zarate who now has his first goal in the league. After having seen him chasing the opponents, making contribution on the first goal, and then scoring for the 4-2, Stramaccioni must have said: "See? I was right to believe him."

Milito makes a perfect impact on the ball for the 1-0.
Record PKs against Pazza Inter was right where the "pazza" is unfortunate (without the lucky goal by Moretti, perhaps the second half would have been different), ill-treated (three penalties against, now there are 9 in 30 games: personal record like in the '85-86 season). Marino gambled. He made the suicidal but yet effective risk of replacing Veloso with Jankovic. The midfielder was then placed wide right to form a 4-2-4 more than a 4-4-2. Then Stramaccioni heard the alarm bells ringing. To counter, he threw in the fresh legs of Fredy Guarin for Stankovic and then asked Obi to be the more "covered" version of Forlan even if, after five minutes, the red card of Julio Cesar forced the team to turn that 4-4-2 to a 4-4-1.

Points gained At that point, the game became a sort of crazed pinball machine. At the end, Marino has the fifth defeat in nine games (four miserable points, the last smile was two full months ago) while Stramaccioni breathed a sigh of relief with all three points: all of which are gained over the losses of Lazio, Udinese and Napoli (two on Catania). He will say that he is not going to look at the table but everyone is.

what a fucking game to see.... I'm glad I left @ HT in order to play football and saved my nerves.

I have to notice that Lucio can't even keep up with relegation battlers... but yeah, give him all the years he wants on his contract :palm:

And too bad JC received that red card, penalty was useless...

I love when Inter plays at 15 PM :fuckyea:

I am more of an night person like the 20:45 insted but stil it was a good game and i liked it as well. To be honest it was really bizzare game for me as well but at the end 3 points what is needed and thos who were in front of us lost the game so really good week. 3 more loses of other teams + including playing vs Lazio and Udenise win will most likely give EL spot if not CL spot at the end. We hope we do well. FORZA INTER

'Inter played a terrible game,' says Genoa president Enrico Preziosi.

guy is right we played below par team and consided 4 goal and what it makes worst is penalties and what that means is they were in our penalty area at will which also say that our defense is swiss cheese. second i am watching replay right not at 2pm colorado time and why are people bashing nagga is beyond me all attacks for genoa that came were from chivu side 8 corners in first half are on chivu side he is responsible for first goal.

all of their goals are lucky. 3 penalties and 1 fluke.

Lets not kid ourselves, Inter's defense was shite yesterday... we made them "lucky". If we were playing a better side, we probably would have lost. But we cannot blame Strama yet, he needs time to build the defense, like he did with the primavera.

As for Sneijder, he is a champion and our best player. Injuries and frequent change of coaches has impacted his performance, just like it has impacted Inter's as a team. Strama seems to be interested in a 4-2-3-1 formation in the long term, and that's Sneijder territory!!

-------------- Milito
Alvarez ----- Sneijder ----- Zarate
------------ Poli - Cambiasso
Zanetti - Samuel - Lucio - Maicon
---------------Cesar

I would love to see the above line up!

well it was the 1st time a team has won in serie A when they had 3penalties given against them, still our defense was shit and 2 of the 3 penalties were legitimate

Well, we did set a record even in this shitty season. We are the first team to concede 3 penalties and win, in the history of Serie A...

Regarding the Sneijder debate:
1.) I agree with those who say he was shit this year and many of our problems are (in my opinion, too) his fault. Alvarez was better then Wes - fact: when the argentine played all the games, coicidentally we made our longest winning streak this year. He injured, Sneijder came back and we made our longest losing streak in years. You do the math. But...

2.) ...as I understood, Stramaccioni always used a playmaker in Primavera, so the 433 is just temporary until Alvarez/Sneijder come back and then he'll go on a 4-2-3-1 with one striker as it was and is his preferred playstyle shown in Primavera.

If I may disagree her , I think Wes style of play was well suited with Etoo specifically as he play at high tempo and Etoo was the only one who could play at the same wavelength. In 2010 when Mou was playing with violent restart technique Shnider and Etoo where vital elements in that tactic. Milito capitalized on his finishing skills as in CL final. Now once we don't have players play at his taste of pace wesly was not fitting and was upset most of the time. I would give him a chance if we add players like Sao Paolo guy and coutinho. The rumors say that argie clan does not like him . Apart from JZ all of them are not near his caliper and should be thankful he is in the same team with them.

Agreed. Sneijder have hardly played the entire season, he is constantly injured, and when he actually do play he is horrible, and you cant blame that 100% on all the players around him.
He shoots whenever he is within 30 yards of the goal much like Zarate has an affinity for, and whenever he fucks up which is about 95% of the time, its either
1. Referee's fault
2. the one he played's fault for not runnig or whatever

Also whenever he loses the ball or not given a freekick for whatever instead of tracking back to get the ball back he whines to the referee and thorws his hand in the air, stops up and look around with an angry face.

Ranieri probably fucked his chances up by trying to accomodate Sneijder in his 4-4-2 or whatever, which evidently didnt work.
I hope we can rob someone of 25 mill for Sneijder and get rid of his wage aswell.

His attitude just doesnt cut it, especially when we're trying to rebuild. if he goes around being pissy about everything that will only hurt the progress and the team.

No one is above the club, and no one should be thankful that they are in the same club as someone else, he is not a God.

Not sure if this has been mentioned already, but Genoa's first penalty (zanetti handball) seemed to come from offside situation.

I don't think Sneijder can be blamed for all our failures this year. I know it may seem weird that when Sneijder plays we've actually done worse than when he does play, but if you watch the games you can understand why. When he is not in the line up the team plays like a more collective unit. They know that no one in particular is gonna spark the offense and so they work together in attack. The opposing teams defense also does not have any one particular player to mark, and so they don't pay any special attention to any one player.

When Sneijder plays inter are always looking to play through him. When he has the ball, very rarely do you see any positive off the ball movement from the other inter players. At times he looks like he is the only one trying. Also, the opposing team realize this and immediately double and triple team him, as they figure if they can neutralize Sneijder, they can neutralize our attack.

With another offensive talent, even someone that plays deeper in the midfield, it would give Sneijder more space. We saw this when inter won the treble and we see it every time he plays with Holland. He is a talented player, but unfortunately the players he is playing with are not all on his level. I think with Sneijder playing with players like Alvarez, Coutinho, Guarin, and a player like Banega, we will see a more effective Sneijder.

That's exactly my point. It was more gifts than came from a real dangerous play. The first goal was definitely fluke, overhead kick, would definitely be saved by cesar, then hit someone's knee and deflected.
