Despite the new arrivals, good performances from Hernanes and M'vila and a typically shit match from Kuzmanovic, I still suspect we'll see the Guarin, Kuzmanovic, Medel trio start this one.

Medel will end up covering for Dodo half the time, and then it'll just be Guarin shielding the back four. Recipe for disaster. If we're going to play with two wingers + Icardi we'll need two sound defensive players in the midfield.

Go watch Napoli if you don't believe me. Inler + Gargano/Lopez barely is enough defensive cover, so they typically play two DMs (Gargano and Lopez usually). Jorginho has also failed in that position at Napoli, so I have absolutely no hope that Guarin would manage.

Your logic is a little flawed. I'm pointing out how bad they are defensively when they only play with one pure DM. And that they still struggle when they play one DM plus Inler who is quite good defensively. My point being that Guarin isn't nearly as good defensively as Inler or even Jorginho, so it'd be suicide. Especially once you throw in the defensively naive Dodo into the mix

i said guarin would have to be reigned in by mancini for it to work, im think box to box lite or deep centre mid rather than defensive /anchor midfielder.
