Damn it. I don't think we deserved to lose this one.
Chivu looked terrible out there, and is responsible for letting that second Jube goal just slide right by him; it looked like it was intentional since he thought it went out prior to the pass, which is inexcusable. The first goal was very hard to stop, seems like Quagliarella has a penchant for goals like that.
On the other hand, Kovacic looked great out there, and was involved in our only goal. Some of us had been speculating that he would do well going forward (like he does with his national team), and he showed that indeed he can.
Rizzoli performed up to my expectations, in that there were plenty of cards given, mostly to us, even when there were several instances where a Jube player should have gotten one (esp. for being too close to a free kick). There were also the obligatory controversial calls where we deserved a penalty chance (most clearly on Kovacic, possibly also a tackle on Cassano).
Strama, whom I have defended here somewhat frequently, made what looked to be a number of mistakes. We've been playing a back four much more often lately, and he starts with the three man defense in this match? Why? Because that's how we beat them the first time? I have no idea, but that was the first mistake. Then he plays Chivu, which always has me worrying (and rightly so for this game). I also think playing Alvarez was a questionable move, as he was slow out there and didn't really create or threaten much. Pereira was an interesting choice, and he wasn't all that bad today, although he didn't cross well, as we have come to expect from him. Then Rocchi? I expect Strama to stay for the rest of the season at least, but today was a little questionable tactically.
At the end of the day, though, our season against Juventus has not been a disgrace, considering the streak we broke earlier this season.
