For my opinion all that spectacular inter passing game you speak about isn't true. It's true that we had more possesion(and this didn't happen last season) but if you look at the passes carefully you'll see that they are simple ones, mostly in a horizontal line in the midfield , from muntari to motta or zanneti and so on and the only one who could make a risky pass that created goals occasions was eto(just like in the old day's with ibra). so we can't speak yet for a better way of playing as long as we still depend on the creations of two players eto-maicon.
As for muntari i still think that he should be a starter. For my opinion you don't like him for the moment because we don't have a playmaker and so we expect from him to make the creative passes but this isn't his role. if we buy a number.10 you will notice that muntari's play will be very important for our team with his incursions and his great tackling(the yellow card shouldn't have been given today for that foul) He does also have a great long ball as shown today too.
As for the defence i agree with you for the lucio-samuel but not with chivu as a Lb because he totally sucks in that role as in midfield.
For a conclusion i think that yes we should take the positives things from today's match but let's all not forget that we lost a "cup" today and not a simple friendly.

That was a great unselfish act of Mario, and a great intention!!! He did well today, except for the corners, which I think were too short. But I'm sure he will get them right when the season starts. Anyway, if he will give the input like that, FR will not have to worry about anything , because Mario will be playing in the first team. Just keep up the good work, play good whenever called and he will jump up in a pecking order in no time.

If we had a play maker already in this team, the result would have been very different. Motta did not live to expectation this match either.

I like how we play today and like many said very excited for this season. It is still annoying that we lost to Lazio who were without two of their starters.

We do hace to look at the bright side. Of course no one thinks it is good to let up two goals, and only score one, but the standard match is usually decided by who has more, better chances.

And we really restricted Lazio's chances. Only other shot I can remember, other than the ones that scored was a Zarate 25+ yard blast.

We were really good at winning the ball today, and if Lucio didn't have that mental lapse, i would be singing his praises right now. He looked VERY cool on the ball.

Can you guys beliene we didn't score of a corner today? WTF??? Lucio came so close, anyone other than Patrick would have scored the other header, from what 4, 5 yards out!

No Ibra anymore to win the game for us ,so a new style of play cannot be implemented right away.We need to give some time to the team,at least i think its fair to say that.

Considering that we have quite a few chances in this game,its fair to say that it wasnt a negative game.

One thing that was nice about this match is that we had 3 midfielders capable of passing the ball forward, instead of our usual 2. Made all the difference in the World. Capitano should stay at left back. At least untill Santon fully proves he's better.

For me it would be a matter of form. If one has a bad match, then in the next the other one starts. I don't think either of them should have a guaranteed spot. As of right now I'd pick Muntari ahead of Deki simply because from what I see he's more likely to score and assist.

I think he will exploit if he plays on the wings like he did today.

IMO Stankovic shouldn't play, and Zanetti shouldn't be a guaranteed starter either. we should really someone who can pass in the midfield!
