Our defense is really something. Shrewd acquisitions, Mancio. You got that one absolutely right. And this Roma match too

Unless you watched a different match, we didn't stay back and we didn't hit Roma on counters except the last part. The main reason why we did well was because Roma's midfield was non existent. They were dependent on Salah and Gervinho. Guarin, Medel and Brozovic were running freely. I didn't even notice Florenzi was playing if not because he was subbed off. Pjanic frustration started early in the game and he lost it nearly the end of first half. The fact that Medel was running uncovered to have his shot emphasized this even further. Owning the midfield to our game, ease our fullbacks a much easier jobs to do as they wouldn't need to cover midfield asses and can focus on shutting Salah and Gervinho. Then, none.. none of our wings were really threatening Roma's full backs. They did well but they didn't make them having a nightmare. You can try to count the number of crosses we had. At one stage of the game, the stats was showing Inter's attack plays through left and right side was zero.

I was surprised by Mancini's selection but I was more surprised by Roma's non-existent midfield.

Why you think Roma's midfield was non-existent? Not only their midfield, but almost their entire team didn't stand out. Maybe only Gervinho and Salah on occasions.

Why do you think none of our wings threatened Roma? Both Ljajic and Perisic were most of the time in our half defending!

Our players stayed in our half most of the time. The only player which wasn't defending much was Jovetic, that's about it.

That's how counter attacking works.

I'm sorry but I honestly think that you either didn't watch the match or weren't paying attention. Only a blind person would say this match was decided by individual quality. Maybe you've understood 'individual quality' or (individual achievement as you call it) wrong?

Not only many FIF members but also experts analyzing the match had the same opinion. It's something really obvious and I don't know how can one fail to see it.

Anyways, I'm not going to argue with you anymore. Off to bed...

We won! We got that fucking three points! I didn't expect too much before this match, i thought we would only get maximum 1 point.
Let's enjoy our win over the scudetto contender and previous capolista.
Last, stop whining and bitching especially when we have a good day like this. Not good for your health.

lol. so typical of you backing up your claims by saying the commentator said the same thing.

Their entire team didn't stand out? lol. Their defence was content with our attack. We almost didn't even penetrate into their box. If their defence was non-existence, then our strikers were really sucks which agreed to my opinion that we had no attacking plans whatsoever and we won mostly due to Roma poor performance. Midfield is the balance in the team. Most of the times when your midfield is disjointed, you won't have a good game. Roma did that and our players took advantage of them.

Our wings were attacking much more in the first half. Maicon had Ljajic in his ball sack all game long. Perisic as he usually did, just didn't perform. I don't know why you said our wings were defending when Brozovic and Guarin were having fun in the midfield. The amount of space Brozovic had tonight was unbelievable.

It's true we defended well but if it wasn't for Handanovic we would have another Fiorentina.

Really starting to like our chances at a top 3 spot. I've been critical due to our lack of goals but our defense is really good.

It's easy to say we rode our luck, it's a lucky win because Roma poor in this game. How about look at it from different perspective. That our tactic made them play poorly. That Nagatomo-Ljajic duo unexpectedly manage to handle Salah-Gervinho-Maicon marauding attack. And D'Ambrosio first start of the season pretty solid that Gervinho finally choose to flood Nagatomo post. Their most dangerous weapon is their fast winger not usually seen in serie A, so when we can handle their weapon off course they gonna play poorly.

I think there's little doubt we tactitcally nailed this game - and the credit for that goes to the players as well as Mancini. The problem is that even when playing a tactically near-perfect match we still could/should have been beaten. I worry for when we gave to play fiore, Roma, juve and Napoli away...but tonight I'll enjoy it.

I don t really agree with the argument that we could/should have been beaten. It s not like Roma missed open goals, there always was one of our defenders either blocking their shot or at least giving the attacker a hard time to take a decent shot also i would not call the fact that we have handa in goal luck.
Imho most of this was down to great defensive team effort which did not really allow roma to play according to it s strength.

Imho big credit goes to mancino lets be honest who of us would have fielded Nagatomo and d ambrosio? Heck most of us would probably not have started Brozo and they all had a massive game. When it comes to guarin i would have loved to see him taken off but after medels injury we really did not have any options on the bench and bringing in goku would have been a very bold move.

You have terribly incorrect opinions

He's exaggerating of course, Miranda wasn't terrible, he wasn't good either. In fact had it been Ranocchia the one making the two awful mistakes Miranda did today, everyone here will be sacrificing him and saying how terrible he was. I also bet you wouldn't be saying anything against those opinions and may even pile on it.

In studio they are saying they were surprised to see Nagatomo in the line up and then they were even more surprised how he managed to contain Salah and Gervinho. They are praising Nagatomo and then Mancini for playing him. They showed two clips where Naga managed to keep up with Salah and are saying if it wasn't for Naga, Salah would've scored two goals. No mention of Handa so far.

What's this 'Studio' you're talking about, is it an Italian TV Show? It does rings a bell, what channel is it on?
