Roma always scares the shit out of me. Hopefully, we can win this game comfortable. Will be interesting to see the reaction Roma gives to Chivu.

Crespo just returned from injury so he shouldn't be match fit enough for this game while Chivu I think will be at LB to counter that area we are so exposed to Roma,

we took their best defender and are going to use him to patch up our LB position

which was the only way they abused us so badly last season

There it is. Mancini says that Stankovic is the AM. Try to understand it already. Figo is an old man who one can't rely as a first-team player, because he can't play all those games.

Ok thanks, i didnt read it before. Yea I agree Figo can't play full 90 min. eather.. He's still great, but for 45 min and thats it, but still in that short time he can make important assists and still be a player of the match. I think Figo , Stankovic and Jimenez gonna change for that spot.

I put Chivu at LB so we dont get raped through that side [ I dont want another Olimpico here],and We all know Mancio would surely play Cafe ahead of Nico.I think there are better options available than playing Nico and Matrix together

Zlatan and Suazo can create for themselves. And Deki has a great shot from distance.

And we have figo on the bench if we the swat team doesn't work.

Well, they did smack us around pretty good twice last season.

Roma are a dangerous team and to be honest, I think they're even better than they were last season. The only significant loss was Chivu and because they used him at CD (where he isn't as good as LB) it wasn't a devastating loss in my mind. Their depth in midfield and up front has also improved quite a bit with the additions of Guily, Esposito, Barusso and Aquilani returning.

That being said, it's either all or nothing when it comes to their style of football. Too much attacking players sometimes leaves HUGE gaps in the midfield and especially defense as evidenced by the Man Utd game. Our counter attacks with Suazo could be devastating against them.

Guys you think J.Zann and others who just came back will be ready? I doubt it, they are only making aerobic training now..Game is soon and they didnt play even one friendly, and if they are about to be ready- than why they are not called for friendly against AZ?

They will play the tim cup and then the super coppa not all of them will start. But I am sure at least JZ will start.

May we ask why you think that?

Because we wasted most of our preseason games playing youngsters and experimenting, when we should have prepared for the season instead.

Besides that, roma has improved their squad a great deal, while we havent, not to mention they have a coach who actually has some tactical knowlegde, something mancio clearly lacks. They also dont have chivu to give away free goals anymore....

This combined with how we played against them last season and the fact that their playing style seems to always rip us apart recently, i dont give us many chances in this game.

Flame away, but that wont make it any less true.
