Bit late to the party since I was at a gig, but hey, 3 points can never be complained about. Watched the full game now and thought Icardi had an overall excellent game, and we finally looked dangerous from set pieces, hooray! That Correa kid is a very smooth player by the way, enjoyed watching him even though he was playing against us, the way he took the ball past Miranda today was very impressive.

Undeserved win. Samp were better in virtually every stat - shots, posession, etc. We were damn lucky to score ALL three of our shots on goal and Samp were unlucky not to do the same with their three. Not to mention there was a clear penalty on us for DDAs hand-ball. Later the side-ref misjudged two offsides that could lead to a goal for us, but that's a different question.

They were statistically better but wouldn't say they actually deserved to win - not because we were particularly great but because Samp look like a really really poor side in general these days. Despite having so much of the ball they never really looked like taking the game from us after our first goal went in and their defending was, unsurprisingly, awful. If we played like that noone round her would be saying we deserved to win. That DDA goal was massively important though, granted, and without it I think we wouldn't been in a lot of trouble.
